Okay, in an effort to quell the questions about if anybody from the same state/province/country they are, I have created the PAX Frappr Map. Go there, add your location and method of travel and see who else is going from where. So there it is. Enjoy and feel free to use this thread for location-related discussion.

You know, I reset those pins before I posted it, and it took until just now to finally show up. Sorry people, some of you might have to change your pin colors.

Darn, I was hoping it was going to be a map to all sources of Frappucinos....

And it doesn't work, I put in my address, hit OK, nothing happens :( It currently has me walking from the middle of the Atlantic!

Getting enough time off of work is as easy and coming in with a baseball bat and leaving in a police car.

There might be nonviolent alternatives too, like rational discourse with your manager or just marking off the time in advance.

When I returned to work after my (vacation) time off I took to be at PAX (that Wednesday after PAX) I got the axe.

I was doing event support for microsoft (also FU microsoft TSG, go DIAF.... bastards) and since it wasnt their contract (at the time) that was doing the support for the MS booth there, they felt I was working for the competiton eventhough I had nothing to do with expo. I guess volunteering at a convention/expo that wasnt on their list of events they support for MS is "working for the competetion"

It was lawl and fail at the same time. But regardless... what moe said. My job rules now.

I don't know what the statute of limitations is for this, but that is 100% wrongful termination. You could easily sue for damages and be practically guaranteed a win. You were volunteering and in an area completely unrelated to the MS booth. Any court would order restitution so fast their heads would spin.

I dunno if this was the case with Red Biggies, but most people who work locally at Microsoft aren't employees, but temporary contractors, and thus it isn't really "being fired" - they are terminating your contract, and not ever asking you back. Thus there's no liability at all.

As for suing Microsoft, that wouldn't be easy to win, they've got entire teams of lawyers, so many that they let employees use them for anything they want (aside from suing/defending against MS of course).
