CoH crashing

I recently downloaded the trial for City of Heroes and whenever I choose my secondary for my character and click on next, the game crashes on me. I have no idea what to do so could someone help me?

    This may or may not be related to your problem. There seems to have been some strange character login and creation bugs since the patch on the 12th.

    All I can suggest is to e-mail support.

    I'll let you know if I can find anything else related. Are you using vista? ATI?

    Edit: I don't know if this makes you feel any better but there seem to be a lot of crashes related to the February 12, 2008 patch so they likely know of them and are working to fix them.

    That is not the problem I having but thanks for the help. Also I am using e-mail support but so far what they have told me to do seems to not help with my problem.

    I was saying it may be realted in the sense that the generic green glowie character you see after the secondary part may be causing you to crash in the same fashion that people appear to be having problems with auras now.

    Edit: Also do you mean crash in the sense that it sends you to the desktop and gives you some error message or it freezes and you have to close it down with ctrl+alt+delete or reboot the computer.

    Double Edit: Do you experience a sound loop when crashing?

    Well in the sense that the game freezes then tells me that the game has crashed and that I can send a report of my game crashing then after I send it or close that the whole game exits on me.

    Hmm odd, your problem seems quite unique. I can't find anything about it on the forums.

    Edit: Umm..look here. This is pretty much exactly what is happening to you minus maybe the sound loop. If they post solutions of some sort they will be there I imagine. Unless that is you heh.

    Actually mine does have a sound loop so he is probably having the same problem. Thanks for the link I'll be checking it to see if someone in that forum can get an answer.

    Problem is the only workaround I see is for if you have already created a character

    I have a hell of an out there solution if you really want to play. I could log on to your account to create a character just with a generic costume and the name, powersets, sex, height ect. you want. You could make the point of making your password for your game account different from your plaync account and every other password you use if you wish. You could then update the costume at icon to get it how you want(I could lend you some cash). I know that is a bit out there and you may not be trusting enough for that but I am the current op of the CoX thread in the MMO section if that helps with the trust in any way. You could also totally have Accualt ban me if I fucked with anything and he would vouch for me anyway I'm sure. Or hell you could even have Accualt do it, he is a mod who plays CoX and I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
