There is a lunar eclipse tonight. Here is how you can watch it! http://www.space.com/spacewatch/080215-ns-lunar-eclipse-guide.html
There's not much to discuss, but the next one isn't until 2010, so I figured I should remind everyone. It's pretty cool. The moon is half red and slowly being blotted out. I live on the east coast.
Also, if you look to your left, you can see the Big Dipper!

It's a beautiful night for stargazing!
Orion is out in full force and there is a very bright, flickering blue star to its southeast. You can clearly see the nebula under its belt and the red star in his club is fucking awesome.
And then the Big Dipper, and then Cassiopeia hiding behind some trees.
I can't really recognize many constellations but this is neat
I'm running inside to get warm and then going outside every 10 minutes or so.
Totality will end in 12:51.

I really want to know what that star below Orion is. It's so bright I keep thinking it must be a plane or something. It's fairly low in the sky due south and it's blue.
Totally clear view here in Ohio. I got my camera set up by about 10:15. I'll rip it, compress it into a couple minutes, throw it up on Youtube, and link it to ya'll tomorrow.
Shit, I'm down to 9 minutes on the tape and it's either just barely getting to total eclipse or just coming out of it. I might have to do a quick tape swap.
Yeah, it was a pretty nifty one. I've seen a number though, so I didn't spend more than a minute or so viewing it.
I really want to see a solar eclipse sometime, but the next time there's one on my CONTINENT is 2017. You better fucking believe I'll be in Kentucky then, though.
Watched it last night, pretty damn impressive. We didn't even know about it until our roommates wife ran in and yanked us all outside to take a look. Were out in the woods a bit so the sky was perfectly clear, and I don't really have to worry about the cold thankfully.

The sky was clear here, but it was -10 or -15. Not at all pleasant temperature for standing outside.
I was at the campus pub, having beer and tequila, and occasionally going outside to watch the eclipse progress. Overall, a nice way to spend an evening.
the "really bright star below Orion", I'm assuming you were seeing Sirius, which is one of the brightest stars in the night's sky and apart of Canis Major.
The "really bright start next to the moon", that was Saturn.
The "Nonflickering bright solid red object directly above me" was Mars.
It was really really cold here in Missouri last night, but I went out with the local astronomical society and was able to take advantage of several really awesome telescopes. Despite the moon looking absolutely incredible, the Orion Nebula and the Pleiadies star cluster were my favorite things to see.

It's Fox though. You probably shouldn't.
Fuck, why don't I have shrooms/acid/pot for this.

I can't wait. I fear for my safety!

It was cloudy before but they dissipated right before the main event

Taurus is looking sexy. Canis Major is rocking out pretty swell.
I wish I was in the woods of Maine
I need friends.
Got a neat picture or two at least.
Why didn't I think of that?!

too bad it was -2 degrees, I would have liked to watch it instead of running in and out the door in 10 second viewings.

-17 Here in madison was way to cold to be outside. Luckily a window had a perfect view.
