Okay, I need a venue for a group of about 2500 people. No music, but a house PA of some sort would be a big plus. It needs to be available on April 5th, and we've got a pretty small budget, unfortunately. Key Arena, as it turns out, costs $20,000 to rent for one day.
If it were located somewhere in the area between the east side of Green Lake and the northish end of downtown, that would be perfect, but I realize that's most likely asking too much. Bellevue or Redmond would work for fall back locations, as might somewhere as far away as SeaTac.
I don't know if they can provide enough room for you or meet your budget, but you might want to contact the Mountaineer's Club. They have a building over on Queen Anne that's available for conferences and such. http://www.mountaineersbuilding.com/business.html

I've been in and around that building. Unless I missed another, large addition, theres no way it would hold 2500 people.
Thanatos, you might look at the Center House, instead of Key Arena. I'm not sure if you can rent it out, but its fairly large, near the Key, and has all sorts of services and what not.
In Bellevue the Meydenbauer center has a lot of space, but I think it might be spendy.
I would guess Qwest and Safeco fields would be at least as expensive as the Key for a day. Did you check the Seattle Convention Center?
