I just got my first Hi-Def display, a Westinghouse L2410NM which I'm using for both my PC and my 360. I plan to get an HDMI cable eventually, but I'm currently using the component cables if they matter to the question.
My question is, I know that common belief is that 1080p > 720p > 1080i, and this says it supports 1080p. But not all 360 games say they support 1080p. If I play something like Dead Rising and don't manually turn it down to 720p, will it default to 1080i?
The game should default to its highest resolution, AND the TV should be smart enough to recognize the digital signal that it's being sent. I'm pretty sure that most TVs are finicky about receiving 1080p over Component cables, but the system *i believe* uses 720p for the majority of its games.
