Welcome to Let's Play : The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse!
What's it about?
Mickey's Quest is a fantastic SNES platformer with various fantasy themed levels and a slew of costumes Mickey can don to grant him new abilities. Your goal is to recover your lost dog Pluto, who has gone missing after chasing his ball off a cliff edge. Mickey follows, spiraling off the edge, and wakes up in a strange land where Pluto has been captured by the evil Emperor Pete.
Why make a Let's Play?
Well you may remember I made a thread to vote in a week ago, and Mickey's Quest won. This is the inevitable conclusion, so if you don't like it, you can rot for all I care, because you brought this on yourselves. Oh and i got Mod Permission so you know, always get mod permission before making these things.
Mmh the jerkiness is a result of the games frame rate not syncing with the video capture frame rate I think, I'll mess around with it a bit for the next vid.
Well I do own a hard copy of the game, but I leave my old stuff back home, and plus it's a way bigger hassle to record from a SNES It's all legal anyway ofc
Magical Quest was pretty well done, but far too short. The costumes each had one level to introduce each, and maybe two levels open to everything. I got the remake on the GBA, and it felt way too brief.
My dad beat this game when I was like 8. It was the most epic 30 hour video game session my young mind could fathom at the time. I have an awesome dad.

I dunno about the length. It was pretty perfect when I first played it because I don't think there's actually any save points, and it was one of those games that inexplicably takes you like 6 months to beat as a kid. Finally doing the last boss was so fucking epic for me when I was 6 or 7 years old, in fact I probably didn't beat it till like 2 years after I got it.
Oh and as for the ending
Total cop out ofc, but I found it comforting that Mickey hadn't really had to go through all that toil and horror. That dude's pretty obsessed with Pete though isn't he, that's not a normal dream, think of all the imagery. Pete's face is in the trees for god's sake.
Yeah, when I was kid it was longer. But I still recall beating it within a rental or two. Nostalgia had me excited about getting the GBA remake, and it didn't suck, but it wasn't as good as I remembered.

Rented this game so many times when I was a young'un, it rocks out loud.
It has the worst ending ever, though!
Not really, it's pretty good all around. The framerate is a bit jerky, but I don't know if that's the fault of Google Video or whatever.

The sequel is notable for its co-op.
I concur.
