question about moving xbox 360 harddrive to another xbox

This is a pretty simple question, and I see no reason that it wouldn't work, but I just want to be sure...Basically, I live in a dorm and will soon be going home for spring break. Originally, I was going to bring my xbox with me, but I figure if I can just detach the harddrive and connect it up to my dad's 360 at my house, it would be alot easier then bringing my entire xbox with me on the plane.

Is there any reason this wouldn't work? I've had to detach my HD before when I sent in the 360 for RROD repair, and upon reattaching it didn't have any problems, so hopefully I'll be ok. But this is a totally different xbox, and I've heard horror stories resulting from when people swap around their HD's and I would hate to end up with corrupted data (or worse) corrupted data on my dad's xbox. One problem I can think of is some screwiness resulting from the fact that the internet connection profiles won't match up initially, but that should be fixable...right?

If you're just looking to use your saved games that's fine. But if you want to use any Live Arcade games it will be a mess that you should probably avoid thanks to the DRM MS uses with Live.

You should not have any problems at all, except the fact that you will only be able to play any DLC when connected to Live (Arcade games, map packs). You may also have to redownload patches for some games. However, since it's a temporary thing, I wouldn't worry about that, and your saves will all still work.

If you're worried about corrupted data, shut down the 360 and unplug it before swapping HDDs.
