The Holiday Forums are now up. Let me (Hahnsoo1) know if there are any issues. The Holiday Forum merge will last (if Vanilla cooperates) until January 3rd.
It's just a minor issue, but when I'm browsing the forums from home, it seems the 'first new post' button doesn't seem to work properly, and is taking me to older posts that I've already read. It seems to run okay when I'm browsing from work so I suspect it may just be something on my end, but I've not changed any settings on Firefox here, so I'm not sure what might've triggered this. Anyone else having this problem?

This is happening to me too. When I click the "American Primaries" link from the main forum page it takes me to post #388 every time. If i'm inside the thread and I click the "First unread post" button, it takes me to post #361. Haven't tried it with other threads yet. I'm on Firefox too, on a Mac.
I started to get this problem last night as well, also on firefox so I'm thinking mabye thats whats causing it. Ill try with IE or another browser when i get a chance.

It seems to happen if you log onto the forums from some other computer than your usual and then forget to log off; when you log back on from a different machine it confuses the database as it sees the cookie from your last session on that machine so it goes to those posts but they were already marked read because of the other log-on. Or something.
tl;dr: Multiple log-ons confuse the DB. Remember to log off with the link in the top right of the page if you are using multiple computers.
That could be it.. I do browse from work (doing so right now) and don't log out when I go home. I'll give that a try tonight if I remember, and see what happens. Cheers!
Conversely, I logged out from the one at work, and I'm still getting the issue here. It's strange, it does seem to update, it's not jumping me back to pages I was on the other day, but it just seems to pick an arbitrary post for the day in each thread, and reset me to there every time.

Your browser shouldn't be caching anything from the forums, but I guess you could try clearing it anyway to see if that helps.

It went away on it's own, so I just forgot about it.
