well seeing that the Penny Arcade is involved with the game,
I was wondering if it is played at all during PAX
i haven't played a TCG for years (used to be a huge pokemon junkie)
i've always wanted to play again, but wasn't sure which one would be new player friendly
i thought UFS might be a good one to begin to play,
as it seems there is a somewhat active player community in the north west
either way, was just curious how big of a deal or even if it is played at PAX
if not, can you guys suggest a good CCG to try getting into?
For some reason it seems like UFS never took off. Every comic store I've seen that still has them on sale has them in the bargain bin. I think even Thinkgeek liquidated their supply. I don't know why, however: I never played it myself, so I don't know if it wasn't fun or something.
I'm a fan of good ol' Magic: The Gathering, personally: and I'll be making a bizarre and ineffective deck just for PAX. If you get into it, I'll be up for a game.
After you mentioned it, I went to their site and went through their little flash tutorial on the UFS. It seems pretty interesting... I might grab one of the super-discounted packs over at thinkgeek.com (they seem to be selling some at clearance for 6.99 a pack) and give it a shot.
I am so sad to say that we only have something like 20 of the PA sets left on the store. We thought the idea of pitting chun-li against gabe was pretty sweet.

I definitely think it was a good idea... and heck, if we play it and like it, maybe it could start a resurgence?

I still have an old MTG deck laying around and would love to play alittle. Last year I played a few games with some random guy and had a blast.
Excellent! I'll be bringing mine for sure. I *really* want to bring my bizzare Ink-Treader Polymorph deck (which, while ineffective at actually *winning* a game, is incredibly fun to play), but it's not Type II (since Ravnica got rotated out) so I'll try to make something equally entertaining with what's around at the moment.
It's hard to beat the Ink-Treader Nephilim for pure fun in decks though.

i'll try and figure out how the game is played before PAX :P
forgot to post this here
i'd love to play a casual game with anybody who'd get a free demo deck

DAMN, sweet find! I just put in my info. When you said "demo deck" earlier, I thought you meant that instructional video. Awesome.
