Request for Help: Delete Ouendan 2 Save Data

Hello peeps. My friend wants to delete his Ouendan 2 data, as I mentioned. Neither he nor I can read Japanese. I found a rather thorough menu translation around the webs, unfortunately this procedure was not covered. If you cannot delete the data in the game itself is there a hardware-side way of doing it? I seem to remember you could on the GBA. I can't recall if there is a way for DS though. I read through my DS's manual and there was no mention of it. Anyway, help a brother out? You guys are always so helpful.

    Try loading the game while holding L + Select, or A+B+X+Y+L+R.
