Name of a Psychological Condition, Causes Strange Visions?

So, I read a long time ago about a condition that causes you to see strange things (odd colors, paranormal entities, etc.) by somehow altering something in the brain. I remember that it could be pleasant (seeing angels) or horrifying (seeing demons). I'm pretty sure it's named after someone who had it.

I'm fairly certain that this was something medically recognized, not New Age or parapsychological theorizing. Mostly, I just wanted to read more about it.

Synesthesia perhaps? I learned about this disorder on TV, it's where people can see, smell, or taste (sometimes all or multiple) sounds. Second link, youtube, is to the video about the girl/people who have this neurological "disorder".
