Try uninstalling and then reinstalling it.

Okay I know there is always winamp support, but they just have a forum; there is a similar topic but it doesn't explain much and there is no solution.

    Basically what's happening:

whenever I close winamp, is either crashes or it continues to run in the background. Generally when I don't realize it is running it the background, until it eventually starts to use more and more CPU usage. (if I leave it for too long it takes up to 50% >_<) I was just wondering if anyone else have had these issues, or know of a solution.

    OS: Vista Ultimate 64 bit
Plug Ins: iZotope Ozone, Gen_Msn, Last.fm Scrobbler

    Switch to Foobar.

    Problem solved!

Have you tried removing the custom plugins to see if one of them is the culprit? Cause IIRC, uninstalling Winamp does not uninstall the plugins.

I was having a similar problem with Winamp. Turned out that a custom plugin for my G15 was causing the problem. Go through your plugins and see if they're the problem.
