Replying to a wedding invitation

I admit that this is a stupid question, but I'm kind of blanking out at the moment on the proper way to fill out a response card for a wedding invitation. The card has the following format:

M_________________________

will ___ attend

I know I'm supposed to fill out the top line with the names of my party ("Mr. and Mrs. Firstname Lastname"). What do they want me to do with the second line to indicate that we'll attend? Check mark? Leave it blank? I can't remember ever seeing a reply card that is phrased quite like this one.

If you are going, leave the second line blank. If you won't be there, put "not" in that line.

Yeah, that just seems like a badly thought through RSVP card. Put something exuberant like ABSOLUTELY or GLADLY or JOYFULLY in the second blank.

I thought that an RSVP was to inform them if you were attending and if you were bringing a date. I guess it's assumed, but most of the ones I've seen have a spot where you can put a 1 or 2 for attending.

ha, the M line really confused me too (i just had to rsvp to one of these a couple months ago)...

as for the other one, wow that seems odd....on the one i sent back it was fairly obvious that i was supposed to put how many people would be attending in my party......this seems like they put the blank space in the wrong spot! ha

the m is because all titles start with m, mr., mrs., ms., the second blank is for how many will attend.

"will 2 attend"? It's written just like the OP shows.

That is a screwy RSVP, but I believe the 2nd blank is to write NOT, for will not attend.
