The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
What can be ascertained so far then is that MotorStorm 2 will be a lot less brown than its predecessor, sprawling across a verdant tropical Pacific island setting far removed from the dusty bowl of Monument Valley. Alongside thick foliage, Sony promises a huge variety in environmental hazards, citing mountainous peaks, flowing rivers, volcanic clouds, lava and - yep - mud. In fact, the game will feature 16 multi-route tracks in total.
Sony has officially silenced rumour mouths too, revealing that monster trucks are a definite addition to the vehicle roster, offering an excessively muscular new challenge for players looking to crush their way through the field - and over opponents. Speaking of which, MotorStorm 2 will indeed feature a four-player split-screen mode, alongside online play for up to 16 players.
MotorStorm 2 is due to hit PS3 this coming autumn (or fall, if you prefer)
Just to summarize the article.
I’m very excited and welcome this game with open arms. I have chugged countless hours through mud already and ready to do it all over again. Looking forward to Monster Trucks, I do plan on crushing your ass.
4-Player split screen should have been included in the first one. At least they doing us right this go round.
Ok, this is basically Motorstorm one, on an island, with monster trucks? I hope this isn't $64.64
Is it just me, or does Motostorm just seem like an uninspired game in general? Nothing really sets it apart.
no way, it had a perfect dynamic going on with different routes and different vehicles - it was amazing risking the high road in a rally car only to drop a few metres in front of your competitors to win the race. it may have been feature-light but at the core it was a fantastic game - i don't think it really needed too much bloating.
Please, please get rid of those stupid ticket things. I do not want to be forced to play a vehicle I don't like. It's the sole reason why I've only finished one or two races in the game despite actually owning it (it was bundled with my PS3).
The jungle setting is a welcome inclusion anyway, as is splitscreen (though it should've been in the original).
Edit: Oh and I doubt people know what MS2 means, so you may want to change it to Motorstorm 2.

possibly. i kind of like the fact that it made you play different vehicles, because there's certainly enough depth to each of them to be appreciated - it would be easy to pick out a favourite and not go with any of the others otherwise.
that said, it could certainly do with an arcadey style "pick a vehicle, pick a track, race!" mode with some actual competition

Fixed Title.
I kinda liked the tickets. Forcing you to drive certain vehicles is on purpose, because certain races... make you face different vehicles. It’s not a FFA every time. Sometimes it’s all buggies, sometimes all ATV's. Wouldn’t be fair to let you pick what ever you want when everyone else is limited to 1 vehicle. Changing which vehicles are available for 1 map, really changes up the gameplay.

I actually enjoyed the racing, controlled well, fast paced, good physics. Looking above, you can see my main problem was it's severe lack of content.

i'm gonna go play it tonight
