Li is going to go on a major offensive vs. Harbinger here
Immortal Body. The Brute Bareknuckle Kungfu Shit.
4 dice on attack
1- throw goddamn ox-cart at harbinger
2- launch him up into the air with an uppercut
3- leap up say... 20 feet into the air and pile drive him
4- grab him by the ankles zangief style and use him as a projectile to destroy a stone building
2 dice on defense
1- burn some 'essence' or what have you for some Iron Skin type shit
2- slap the flat of his sword away with Li's goddamn bare hands
okay Harbinger is going to counterattack with some straight up Soul-rending Blade style
he'll cut through the ox-cart (1), take the uppercut because you surprised him(2), parry the ground with a sweet perfect defense(3), and get thrown through the building
he will of course be walking out of the rubble like a goddamn hero (4)
and then he will launch a flurry of blades which you will block, also like a goddamn hero (5)
three of those dice will be defensive and two of them will be offensive, using his Abyssal Blademaster attribute
1- earthquake stomp
2- leap and flying elbow to hit the Harbinger mid-air
3- vaulting through the air to smash his face with both feet as he slides away
4- somersault back to a full stance and send the bouncing Harbinger back into the tree Li hit with a "this is sparta" ish kick to the chest
2 dice on defense
1- turn away a seemingly killing blow with his skull
2- tumbling around and ducking the blade during his offensive
harbinger's going jump the earthquake, block the elbow, and rebound off of the tree with his feet (3)
drive sword into the ground causing unholy tendrils of necrotic essence to whip at li's bronzed skin; when Li jumps into the air he'll rip the sword out of the ground and hurl it at Li who will suffer a minor cut on his shoulder. when they come to rest Li will begin to feel insidious poison burning in his veins dun dun dunnnn
unfortunately he only scores 2 defensive successes and 2 offensive, meaning he loses 2 points of chi and li loses none. he's going to take a Setback instead of getting knocked out of the scene.
instead of going with the setback i decided to give the victory to Li - the image in my head of them clashing all wuxia style and then Li being the victor was pretty cool
anyway, now it's time to deal with Crane's side of the battle as he squares off against a new antagonist!
also as usual we're going to do a rewrite of canon - the whole heavenly tournament happening so soon really doesn't mesh up, so let's do a little brainstorm. li and crane are obviously on a journey to the west (ha), but what has phoenix been doing? perhaps some research into information gleaned while in sinopochtli, or perhaps being sent on other missions far away from the hundred kingdoms with a completely new resplendent destiny?
Ok, 6 details. (Thanks to Arc for setting me straight on how to Wushu, I was being way too limiting in uses of my own Traits)
Offensive Dice.
1: Charges Shark Women.
2: Uses staff to snag and fling nearby pot at her as distraction and then change direction of attack
3: Following said pot with flying kick from different direction.
Defensive Dice.
4: Burn Essence to block an attack one-handed with a small glowing shield.
5: Parry a second attack with the tip of my staff.
6: Step inside a third attack and throw Shark Lady over shoulder. (judo throw)
It's not like an Abyssal is particularly good at removing diseases from their patients without 1. eating them or 2. making them hemorrhage black stuff, both of which are painful and un-fun for the victim.
If only Crane had invested in some Solar Medicine, that stuff wouldn't last.

so the limit is six dice regardless of stunts?
edit I MEAN DETAILS

i'll go ahead and narrate this bit.

i'd like input from everyone
Offensive Dice.

Rolled using Exaltation's Memory trait. (Remembered skills from the First Age)
3d6 Offensive = 3, 4, 5 (Three Successes)
3d6 Defensive = 5, 6, 5 (Two Successes)
Anyway, Scab Roll on Exaltation's Memory :5d6 = 4, 1, 5, 4, 5
Lowest roll is a 1. so that means "A solid, professional success. Good Work!"
one nemesis at a time pls
not Yoda
Vader's got to be easy to make.
and the apprentice! a jedi knight of sorts in redemption. perhaps he'd be reincarnated as an exalt.
with a summonable sword of pure essence and a bit of sorcery?
rainfall, have any insight to offer?
Get drunk on celestial wine.
Okay, one thing to do.
But not knowing better, he drank wine in the Underworld.
Those skeletons seemed like good guys though.
Crane where we going to find some celestial wine?
damnit dude
not what i meant
If only Crane had invested in some Solar Medicine, that stuff wouldn't last.
However, I suspect this wound can only be healed by Plotonium.
also hey rainy you should make your death save for Stick In The Mud and nudge the next person in line.
