The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
It is a game where you play a thief and steal things. It is free. You have an umbrella with a tazer in it and a Trilby hat. It is very addictive. You can steal a lot of things in this game. I give this game a B+.
I'm a sucker for most stealth games, so I wasn't surprised to find myself really enjoying this one. Just make sure that when you're upgrading all those fancy moves, like rolling and spider-gripping and all that, don't neglect the lock-picking skills. It makes certain situations a whole lot easier.
It is a little frustrating in the later levels if you're one of those perfectionists who can't bear to set off the alarm a single time, even though you're allowed 2 or 3.
I have wanted to play yahtzees games for a while, but I was under the impression there was continuity across them, and didn't understand it. Which one should I play first?

Trilby's Art of Theft is largely standalone, though it does feature his character from 5 Days a Stranger.
Each game description on www.fullyramblomatic.com in a sequence has its number -- 5 Days says it's first, 7 Days says it's second, etc.
The order is 5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes, and then 6 Days a Sacrifice.
7 Days is definitely last chronologically, of that I'm sure, and 5 Days is first. The Chefelf forums will probably be able to give a definitive answer in a sticky or something.

They're meant to be played in that order. The story builds as you go, especially in Notes and 6 Days. 6 Days refers to a lot of stuff from the other games actually (yes, despite one being in the far future).

His other games are hit and miss, but it's all good.
Definitely play those four though, if you do nothing else. I feel it really picks up around game three, but all of them are gold.
Although that seems like an odd expression, since meteors don't really rise, more burn up brightly in the atmosphere.
(I'm still on Mission 6, I can't stop tripping alarms)
Not to say that those are bad games but Art of Theft was a hell of a lot of fun.

It will only take a moment of your time.

I believe GSM took it as the subject for his 'some punctuation' review when Yahtzee was away for a week. That got around a bit.

Well, maybe... but I can't imagine anybody writing a game and releasing the episodes in a different order than they're supposed to be played in.
