Not interested. I tried getting into "hulk" stuff (I know its different) but I really don't like Cho or whatever that kids name is. This is the last Cap issue before the new arc starts right? I've been catching up in trade and am ready to make the jump over with the new arc.

Cho is now a supervillain of sorts and Herc is probably gonna have to slap him around a bit.

Really, Herc is one of the best comics Marvel is putting out right now, buy it.

It's not called The Incredible Cho

Herc is the star and it is oh so good

I'm just waiting for that Flash/Rogues mini by Johns and Kollins, I'm done giving the main book chances until I hear it's awesome.

Blue Beetle has a lot more to catch up on though, Herc's on like it's 4th or 5th issue I think.

yeah but he said he'd buy a trade or two, so he can pick up the first two Blue Beetle trades and it'll be better than buying something from Marvel.

Blue Beetle holds no interest for me, same with Herc. I'm glad you guys are fighting over me though :)

too bad, you're buying Blue Beetle anyway and you'll like it

Sell me on it Keith and I might pick up the first trade. Do we have a Blue Beetle thread? Really I know nothing about the character.

It does the Spider-Man archetype better than Spider-Man.

The current Blue Beetle is pretty much the Spider-Man of the DCU (Ultimate Spider-Man to be more specific). He's a high school kid who just has this great power thrust upon him and can't do anything to get rid of it, so he takes on the great responsibility of being a superhero (also he's not completely whiny).

The two best parts of the book are A) the supporting cast. They're all likeable, even the "bad" ones, and they're all as important as Jaime is; and B) it's on issue #24 and in the past two years he's actually grown more as a character than most other characters do over five. I don't want to get into too much detail so as to spoil it.

The next issue (#25) is John Rogers' last issue for unspecified amount of time. The first 9 or so issues were co-written with Keith Giffen. And even though there have been multiple different story arcs, the series as a whole has been leading up to the next issue. It's like a good action movie.

It's Tangent Universe stuff. You don't read much DC so you won't like it.

Hell, I read pretty much only DC and I don't understand anything about it ever.

OK cool saves me the extra 2.99 a month.
I've got two year-long minis as it is, on top of my regular books. I don't need to add more.

So the first trade is a good start then? Or should I just jump and pick up the last few to get caught up currently. Or is there even a first trade?

Well, like I said, you watch Jaime grow as a character, and the whole series has been building up to #25, so you're gonna want to start with the first trade.

As Karma said, there are three trades out now. The third trade goes up to #18, so you'll be 6 issues behind (or 7, depending on when you finish reading them)

Yeah, I stopped picking it up for a while around issue #8 or so because I went to school and didn't have money and it was okay at the time. Then when I picked up all the issues I missed (I think around issue #14 or so) I read them and was like "dang this is awesome I should've picked this up over that other stuff"
