Driving in Rocky Point, Mexico

A friend of mine and I plan to go to Rocky Point in Mexico tomorrow for a two day trip, one night trip. Our plan was to take my car, which is technically my dad's since it's registered under his name, and we know we'd be able to get Mexican insurance that way since we've done that before. I am concerned, however, that if I were to get pulled over, a registration with my dad's name on it would be a problem, despite the fact that the insurance itself is under my own name.

So, PA, I ask you: is this a problem? Should we cancel our plans, or am I okay so long as I manage to acquire the insurance?

If you can get insurance, youd be fine.

All my cars are registered under my moms name, simply because insurance is way, way fucking cheaper if i dont own the car.
