GBA -> Wii connectivity problems.

I know this is an incredibly marginal topic, but I'm hoping to get some advice before this melts into the ether.

Recent releases have encouraged a friend any myself to indulge in some old-skool Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles action. We dragged out our GBA SP's, hooked them up to the Wii, and had an 80% problem free game. The bugger of it was that occasionally either of the SP's would forget they were connected to the Wii, necessitating a reboot along with a dose of "who knows if it helped" cable wiggling. Thankfully the game is super-permissive with these sorts of problems, but it was really annoying to hit the third boss and BAM both characters are impotent.

I never did a lot of GBA->Cube connectivity despite owning all the big players in that arguably tiny pond, but I do know I never was fraught with these sorts of problems. Does anyone have any experience using the Wii to do this? Should I be digging out the cube from storage to avoid these problems? Any advice would be welcome.

    I recently played a bit of Crystal Chronicles on a Wii with 3 GBAs attached, no problems whatsoever (other than the game being pretty dull...)

    Did you blow in both slots?

    Yes? Thought so.

    Now that I think of it, I had the same problem on GC, I think the problem was with my little cord things though, so I just bought a couple new ones and I was fine. But, it'd be nice not to have to do that. Could the problem lie in your gameboy?

    It's the connector.

    My buddies and I played through CC just a few weeks ago and one of the cables was constantly lagging behind and sometimes dropping connection. So we brought in another one and went problem free thereafter.

    How on earth could you have spares of these cables? Well, drat. It's not like I'm going to find new ones, and these were official Nintendo ones.

    I think you can still order them from Nintendo. Also I see new ones in Wal Mart from time to time for very little money.

    Either that or you could buy another copy of the four swords pack in with it.

    Pink Godzilla in Seattle has them for $3 a cable if I remember right. They're damn cheap.
