I'm looking to set up 2-3 cheap eBay micro camera's in one of my friend's cars for a cross nation rally event.
I've been looking at the auctions and they say that you need the cameras and DVR and eventually someplace to record it to, but I was wondering how I would set something like this up ? Is there a DVR that has multiple inputs that can record from 3 wireless cameras ? How would I set it up so that it would display the time ?
If the wireless aspect is running on bluetooth you could theoretically have over 100 cameras synched up to your recording device at the same time. As far as being able to record all of them, it probably comes down to a software issue.
So I believe they aren't bluetooth. I was going to record with a handicam in the boot hooked up to a spare car battery or something, because with the driver and co-driver there's essentially no more room left in my friend's Porsche. At the same time, wouldn't a Laptop use a lot of electricity compared to a camcorder?
The camera's themselves will be mounted one facing towards the front, back and possible 2 more facing the pedals and shift knob.
I'll admit I'm not familiar with these. But from just reading the description it looks like you need one of those hand-held recorders they are also selling.
Again, I'm not 100% sure because I'm not familiar with these parts or cameras - an option would be to send an E-bay message to the dealer themselves and ask them what you would need for the setup you want. But then you run the risk of them trying to peddle you more than you need. The choice is yours, and sorry I'm not more help.
They aren't bluetooth. You'll need a camera and a receiver for each camera. Then your receiver would need to plug into a DVR to record the stream. I'm not sure how much power a DVR is going to draw, but you might want to consider just using a laptop and cameras.
