Pure genius or tormentor of LCD monitor?

So, I like to view comic books. Only, I could be doing this one glorious page at a time if I were to rotate my 22in monitor on it's side.

Would it damage it in any way if I were to anchor it nice and safe on the side?

You'd definitely have to Macguyver something together, but I suppose as long as the weight is evenly distributed you'll be okay. Unless it's like an etch a sketch and all the stuff starts to pool at the bottom. :p

p.s. Those cats are awesome. Where did you get them?

I think you'll be fine. My LCD monitors will actually turn that way on the stand, so I doubt it is harmful. As long as it is stable in that orientation, I can't imagine there would be any problem.

Yeah, some LCD stands are actually designed to do this. I don't think it'll be an issue, assuming you get it stable. You might try to find a wall mount that can handle such rotations with ease so you can switch orientations without too much trouble.

I do this with one of my Ultrasharps. Some monitors are designed for it, I can't imagine any monitor suffering from it... if they are that fragile then they wouldn't survive shipping.

P.S. You will love it, the internet on a vertical widescreen monitor is pretty much heaven.

Bear in mind if you modify an existing monitor that you make sure there's enough slack in the cords between the monitor itself and the stand, they shouldn't be taut at any point ever in the allowable range of movement. Monitors not designed to rotate may not have the necessary slack for that kind of twisting.

    Just Google "issyo doko demo"

I picked up the figures and stuffed animals from a random Korean place. Though the black one was limited, and my girlfriend got it for mah birfday >:3

I figured I will make a weirdo stand out of wood and tears, demonstrated here via ten laborious hours.

Thank you all for the suggestions and advice ;3

Your monitor probably has a standard 4 screw mounting area on the back. Any aftermarket stand could work on it.
