Hey, i am considering reinstalling windows and thus i will have to delete steam and reinstall it, but will this cause all of the games that i have bought to be reset so that i have to buy them again, or does steam know thru my user name that my account already bought these games? And thus i would just have to reinstall them?

I really really dont wanna have to buy something twice :P

You don't have to buy anything again, and if you copy your steam folder to a backup drive, you won't even have to redownload them.

You can also have steam backup the files so you're not working off an old install.

Right click on a game (any game), Properties, Local Files tab, Backup game files. It splits it into nice CD/DVD sized files so you can burn. Alternatively, you can just backup the steamapps folder in your Steam install and copy it back over when you reinstall Steam. As said before, Steam games are bound to your account and you can redownload them as many times as you want, so you really don't need to do this. The backup is just to save you time.
