I learned how to make barbecue sauce tonight which was pretty cool. Too bad it took like 5 minutes to make because I am super fucking lazy.

I heard somewhere that ketchup and tomato soup both have to same nutritional value as a fresh tomato

    so that's interesting
the only way that could be true is if both were made only with tomato and no other ingredients were added, which is definitely not the case so I call shenanigans

okay so I did some research

    http://www.globalgourmet.com/food/sleuth/0799/
4 tablespoons of ketchup have the nutritional value of an entire ripe, medium tomato.

    that's a misleading statement
it doesn't just have the nutritional value of a medium tomato
there's added sugar and sodium but as they say, the lycopene from cooked tomatoes seems to be more readily absorbed
but that doesn't mean the nutritional value of the two is identical

    How I read this.

This can of Campbell's tomato soup that I found in my kitchen says "Suitable for Vegetarians" on it, so I guess there are tomato soups that aren't vegetarian.

I've seen bottles of water with 'suitable for vegetarians' written on them. I don't want to even know about water that isn't.

I make a decent beef stroganoff with campbell's cream of chicken, instead of the usual cream of mushroom. It is pretty good stuff, though i guess it wouldn't really be beef stroganoff without the mushrooms. Ah well.

Stroganoff does not have soup in it.

    ever.
