So I'll be going to law school in the fall, and while I'm still waiting for some responses, it's coming down to the wire for me to make some decisions. I basically have two choices, Rutgers-Newark and St. John's, and they are very similar to each other. I am definitely leaning towards one more than the other, but at this point I am just looking to get as much input as possible.
I don't have to pay tuition for either school, but I will have cost of living expenses, including housing. I would be living wherever I go to school. I made lists of what I have considered important factors in my decision, and I will likely add more as they come to me.
Rutgers-Newark
Easy access to New York City via mass transit.
Crime most likely to be a victim of: murder.
My aunt is an alumna and successful lawyer in Newark, so I would have connections.
Good special ed law clinic.
Very good reputation within the state.
Poor bar passage rate.
St. John's
Slightly better raw numbers (entering LSAT, GPA) than Rutgers.
Much better bar passage rate.
Crime most likely to be a victim of: grand theft auto.
I like their housing and campus better.
Kinda difficult to get to.
It's in NY. I consider this a good thing.
Will be easier to maintain my scholarship. (Not that I anticipate being unsuccessful.)
I'm not asking anyone to actually make this decision for me. But like I said, any input you could give would be appreciated!

Is there a specific branch of law you're interested in pursuing?
I have only a vague idea. I would like to work with young people in some capacity, since I've been doing that pretty much since I graduated high school. From what I've heard though, a lot of people go in with an idea of what they want to do and then discover they want to do something else. So while I'd like to do something with kids, I also intend to go in with a relatively open mind.
Can't be a lawyer without passing the bar. St Johns has a higher rate. Less crime, Looks better on a job application, More networking potential because it will be easier to get clerkships from a better school.
