"Weekly Update" e-mail from the Harvey Dent campaign:
What a difference a week makes.

Last week, our campaign looked like it was on its last legs. The media was burying us, and urged us to withdraw for the sake of Gotham City. The smear campaign, with its vicious lies against Harvey Dent, spread fear, uncertainty, and doubt about the one man who can save Gotham.

But now - thanks to people like you - things look very different. Thousands of people gathered in the Dent for DA headquarters for its reopening. And I saw something different in the crowd. Something has changed. The "White Knight Incident," as it has become known, is allowing people to see Harvey Dent differently. Not just as a man with the guts and the toughness to change Gotham. But as a symbol of the best of Gotham City - a Gotham we almost forgot existed.

But that Gotham City does exist. It's a Gotham where ordinary people can walk out their door at night without fearing for their lives. It's a Gotham where the good can triumph over the evil. It's a Gotham where justice isn't just for the rich and powerful, but for everyone.

With your help, we'll bring back that vision of Gotham. On Election Day, everything changes. Harvey Dent will take back Gotham City - thanks to the hard work of people like you.

    See you on election day!

    Allan Cypes
Media Manager, Harvey Dent for Gotham DA

'Toughness'? I mean, it's a real word and all, but... it really doesn't seem to fit.

Isn't that redundant with "guts" anyhow?

Also, Dent as the White Knight to the Dark Knight? I can dig it.

Makes more sense to really. Why have Batman shown so completely and well lit?

I need to blue-dot this thread anyway, and what better way than to say I think I like that fan-edit better than the already awesome original. Both need to be out in the wild.

And I need a wallpaper of that fan edit. If only I had dual monitors...

The presidential portraits on the "It's All Part of the Plan" page are now clickable. Each will take you to a page with a countdown (the countdowns are all the same, roughly 2 days to go) and a set of coordinates to go to when the countdown ends. Each coordinate also has a Google maps link, and all the locations are prominent parks located in each respective city.

Gather with 300 of your closest friends at this exact spot on April 28th. You'll need to be in contact with a partner-in-crime who has online access to relay your instructions once you're there. These instructions will give you the TRAIL to follow, but be sure to look both ways when crossing the street; we wouldn't want you to make an unscheduled visit to the ER now, would we? Put on a smile and plan to spend about an hour or so bonding with your fellow clowns. Check back here often for updates or changes.

Holy shit, they should use the first Batman poster, and then replace it with the fan-edit Joker poster.

It's so jarring and eery seeing Joker's back replacing Batman there.

They've made some good holographic posters before. They could make one where if you look at it one way there is Batman, the other way being Joker.

    I love that fan edit.

But I would lose the red lettering at the top. I think the tag line by itself is perfect, and still fits perfectly, without gimmicking it up.

Agreed. The original text works better than the fan-edited one.

Alternatively, for the Joker poster, "It's all part of the plan" would work pretty well IMO.

Those aren't real, are they? They're cool conceptually, but the first two look kind of like fan art (good fan art nonetheless). For a second there, i thought he was standing on the electric razor that Santa rides in that one Christmas commercial.

The last one looks like a photoshop using the old suit, judging from the neck.

They won't, because they're not real. The first two are of a toy and the third is a fan poster from when TDK was first announced.

Sorry this is going back a bit, but I've only just gotten back into following the ARG after being out of the loop for about a month...

I was wondering, in the conference audio, who's was the main voice supposed to be, as in the one who sounded closest and clearest and kept asking stuff about what was going on?

So impressed by the marketing for this movie.

It is interesting to see the difference (note, not making a judgement on which is the better movie, etc) in marketing between Iron Man and The Dark Knight. The very traditional (but very, very big) marketing blitz on the part of Iron Man, and the "How can we really suck them in?" approach of TDK.

Anecdotally, I'm hearing much more about The Dark Knight from 'IRL' friends than Iron Man. It's not about the ARG, it's about the hype it's generating. There are a bunch of anecdotes from people on other forums who have had friends/family members who aren't big movie buffs wanting to go see TDK because they've heard it's awesome or tangentially have been exposed to the ARG (Dent vans on campuses, etc).

Iron Man comes out in 5 days and TDK comes out in 10 weeks.
