The 360 Dashboard and whatever the PS3 has desktop thread.
I like to use the official Ratchet & Clank Future theme for my PS3, as well as the Metal Gear Solid 4 wallpaper they released for it. My 360 is currently using a Call of Duty 4 theme, although I think I may change that.
Also, that TV you got there is a Samsung, right? DLP HL-T series or something close?

I just figured those images taken were of your background and TV. That black bezel is 0.6" and is totally from Samsung's DLP HL-T line. :P I own one myself, and they're great HDTVs, so long as you get one with the LED engine. I'm not going near replaceable bulbs.

I've got a ton of PS3 themes, too many really, it's a bit of a pain browsing through them all. I've got a couple of official ones, like the Killzone 2 and Ratchet & Clank ones, but most of my others I got at Neogaf, particularly from m0dus. Here's my favourite, which I've used pretty much from the day he created it:

That's really nice. I might have to check some of his theme's out. I use a Star Wars theme from ps3-themes.com. I don't particularly like the site, but when I did a google search in my ps3 browser for themes it was the first site that came up so I used it.
A problem I have with official themes is that they almost invariably make the text impossible to read, although I suspect it has something to do with my HDTVs video settings, considering I don't really know how to tweak it.
I paid for a PA one months ago as I a couple of hundred points going spare and I fancied a change and frankly the thing blows. I won't be buying another theme unless they bring in a preview feature.

This.
The PA theme is a god damn mess. But then, the 360 dashboard is so full of menus and boxes it doesn't leave much room for a background to actually, you know. Look good.
I'd happily pay for themes if they were animated, like the 3 default 360 themes and were previewable.
I'd also shell out MS Funbucks for optional music visualisers (you know, ones that aren't the computerised version of a lobotomy - PS3's earth music visualiser looks pretty dang classy for instance), and for just nifty screen savers to show off my HDTV when I have a party and I need something in the background to, I don't know, distract people from each others faces.
Between the lack of preview ability and how ugly the majority of them seem to be, paying for backgrounds on the Xbox seems damn-near retarded to me. I've grabbed a few free ones, but I much prefer the base one - honestly, I don't spend enough time on the menu to make blinging it up worth it, and when I am on the menu, I value readability far more than fancyness.
That's a ridiculous example of profiteering. I mean shit, if Vista made you unable to use your own wallpaper, and only let you use ones you paid for, no one would accept it.
It's a bunch of JPGs for crying out loud. Hell, from the sounds of things most of them are promotional items, and really, any publisher should be lucky that I am willing to let my (theoretical) Xbox serve as an advert for them. I'm not going to pay them to throw a bunch of art assets they have lying around into some wallpaper format.
Then don't. I'm using the default and it's nice. Plus with the camera plugged in you get a wavy watery image of yourself that responds to movement, which is so awesome - you can wave your hand and it'll make a trail.

Oh, it gets worse. You have to pay for avatars too.
Yes, you have to pay for stupid little 90x90 (or whatever) avatars that probably took someone in the art department ten seconds to make.
Worse still? You can't preview them, either. You have no idea what you're getting when you buy one, other than it's a "Halo" avatar, or a "Call of Duty" avatar, etc.

Actually, usually avatar picture previews show up in the shop where you'd normally see a banner with the game logo.
I always end up with something random and it usually changes if I'm playing the 360 or ps3 a lot in a short amount of time. I guess you can say that I get bored of the themes after a while and need to trade out.
You guys do know that you can preview all of the themes on xbox.com right? You just go to Xbox Live > Xbox Live Marketplace > Themes. From there you can choose a game and it will show you all the themes for it. Its still a ripoff though. :P

Right now I have the Speed Racer theme.

I don't understand anything you just said.

Especially when you can't preview them.
I've only paid for one theme, and got lucky because I really like it.
It was a Tomb Raider: Legend theme, the first one I believe.
You can't customize each blade, but you can set a wallpaper that every blade uses. (See OP)

For my ps3, official god of war theme which i do not posses any pics of.
Which, as mentioned earlier is pretty stupid they expect you to buy them before even seeing them.
I guess related, is there a site that has images of the marketplace themes?

There was a site, but then it shut down because they didn't have enough money.
Microsoft should have one. Or a preview ability.

The current Moonshell skin I'm using. :P
how do you change that stuff in the DS?

Homebrew device. I've got the menu set up to look kinda-sorta like the DS's system menu.
I'm going to modify it later so that the up button isn't shifted over to the right; it's annoying, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
On the 360 you have to pay for wallpapers?
Fuck that noise.
Exactly.

I use this one on my 360 (it's a shame you can only get different backgrounds per blade on themes that you buy):
Oh, it gets worse. You have to pay for avatars too.

But there is a reason everyone seems to have the same 5 avatars, yeah.

They're still an absurd ripoff, of course.

Ah, okay, I wasn't sure if they had them all or not. The few that I went on there to look at were there.
Yes, I payed for it, but I was drunk.
The camera effects are pretty cool too.
