gimmick matches can be fun but that sounds so ridiculous.

One of my favorite gimmick matches was the texas bullrope match between JBL and Eddie Guerrero at Great American Bash

Reverse Battle Royal? Followed by a proper battle royal, then a pinfall?

    Wait, what?

Some guys start outside the ring. They fight to get in the ring over the top rope. When half of them get in, the rest are eliminated. The remaining ones then have a normal top rope battle royal in the ring, until there are 2 left, and then they wrestle a normal one fall match.

And that is one of Russo's simpler TNA inventions.

Are you sure there wasn't some sort of "X on a pole" stipulation in there?

There was also the Sting Abyss match. They hung a coffin above the ring, and the object of the match was to lower said coffin and shove your opponent in it, then RAISE THE COFFIN SEVERAL INCHES IN THE AIR which according to the commentators was totally devasting, somehow. No really.

Also, the ring was surrounded by spoooky plastic halloween props, and the crowd chanted Fire Russo the entire match.

Anything on a pole is usually terrible.

    Also Scaffold matches are awful.

Then again nothing will top the CHAMBER OF HORRORS

I remember one time in WCW, there was a backstage segment where one guy was chasing another guy down to beat him or whatever. The guy running away went through a door and supposedly locked it or whatever and the guy chasing him was, I guess, supposed to bang on the door all frustrated-like. But the door just swung open and the other guy is just hanging out on the other side, chillin'. The chaser was all "oh shits" and pulled the door back closed.

That was Jericho, and it wasn't the chaser. What happened was Jericho was supposed to be locked out as he was mocking Goldberg and his entrance, and he got lost and locked out. At first, he pulled on the door and OH SHIT IT WASN'T LOCKED, so he had to quickly make it seem like he wasn't. Later on, since NO ONE TOLD THE CREW about the gag, some guy opened a door close by, and Jericho had to pretend he didn't see it.

    It was hilarious.

    I like Elimination Chambers.

The Jeff Hardy/HHH/HBK/Umaga/Jericho/JBL one they just had was really well done.

Wrestlecrap is a great site. I wish they still had all the inductions permanently up instead of just cycling through them.

I never really had a favorite tag team, to be honest. I was more of a faction person, myself.

My favorite WWF tag teams were, The British Bulldogs and The Hart Foundation.

I used to scream at my television when one of them would be fighting "The Killer Bees" or whatever they were called. They would switch in and out without tagging and the ref could never tell them apart. It was so aggravating.

shit I knew I was forgetting one of his terrible gimmicks.

also my favorite screw up was the Hogan/Warrior I believe re-match in the WCW where hogan was supposed to throw a fireball at Warrior, but he forgot to light the flash paper, so he pelted the dude with a piece of paper. This in itself would be funny, but Hogan tried it again, screwed up, and the paper burned out in his hand.

I was actually into FMW for a while. I like watching the hardcore matches once in a while if they're done right.

XPW or CZW can go fuck themselves though. They're just plain idiotic. Or were, in XPW's case. I dunno about CZW.

To me, the most interesting thing about wrestling is all the times you wonder "how did somebody actually think this was a good idea?"

Kali vs any other giant, for example. How does Vince think that people actually want to see that?

But then there's the alternate viewpoint, that WWE is so successful because shit like that is what people actually want to see. That scares me.

It's more that they're the "only game in town" in the sense that they're the only promotion on a global level. TNA's starting to go overseas and gain popularity with the puro crowds in Japan and Mexico but they're no rival for Vince and his billions of dollars.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, and from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip-malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moments lost in time; gone like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die.
