Sadly, you can't put it on your desktop via Active Desktop, since Microsoft decided to remove it entirely from Vista. There are, however, several sidebar widgets that will show it, and those can be drug off the sidebar onto the desktop.

They should be in the widget directory. On the main window of the widget adding thing, there should be a link labled "Get more gadgets online". That will open a web browser window to the online gadget gallery. Just search for xbox or gamertag, and you should find several options.
hey, now that this fellow query has been answered mind if i hijack? sure ya don't. I recently purchased a new hp laptop for myself/wife. She has been getting her sims 2 on since launch on an older system with a basic graphics card and one gig of ram. The new jam has a new graphics card, 2 gigs of ram, and a better processor. After the install however she claims the game runs a bit faster but the graphics are not as good. Now I do not know the names of both graphics cards off of the top of my head but I really want to blame the problem on Vista running on the new machine while the old has xp. The upgrade came due to the wear and tear of week long sims2 gaming sessions taking their toll and I really didn't want her to lose 4 years worth of gaming because the pc crapped out. Anyone here have any tips on curbing vista resource use to better use those assets for gaming?

we really need to know model numbers on things to have any idea what's going on. What brand/model of video card, specifically. Also, did you go in and adjust the settings in the game?
