[Recommend On] PSP Multiplayer Stuff

I just convinced my buddies to pick up some PSP's along with me and I want to play some local or internet multiplayer games with them. Co-op or VS play, it doesn't matter.. we want to see what our choices are before dropping the cash on some crappy game nobody wants to play.

I love the PA forums' taste in games most of the time (dwarf fortress? D:) so what I'd like to do here is to possibly create a master list of worthy multiplayer games for the PSP and possibly get some interest in some [Game On] while we're at it. So whaddya know PA? Is Monster Hunter Freedom 2 worth our time? Did IGN make a decent list for 2007?

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters

Monster Hunter Freedom 2. Two of my friends and I have reached over 300 hundred hours of play with it, but it's only co-op though.

The grand theft auto stories had some sweet assed local multiplayer. They are also totally awesome portable single player games too.

I could just google it, but what exactly does Grand Theft Auto stories bring to the multiplayer table? You have piqued my interest, good sir.

There were other game types but me and my buddy would just play deathmatch. Oh man many a fun time was had on that bad boy.

Many times we would drive around the city looking for weapons/powerups or whatever and agree not to attack one another until both were ready.

and then we'd hunt each other down with great vengeance and furious anger!

also, it could definetly be picked up on the cheap.

If you're into strategic warfare, the Final Fantasy Tactics co-op missions are awesome.

The Melee(duel) modes are fun also.

If you liked PSO, you'll like MHF2. And with friends, it only gets better.

Sorry for the semi-thread hijack, but do we still have threads with the lists of games recommend for each system? Did we ever have one for the PSP?

Also, MHF2 is good stuff if you like PSO-type games.. it's like a more difficult version of PSO with a lot more depth. Very fun in multiplayer.

Seconded for GTA. I'm going to be playing it today, actually (my friend just found his PSP), so I will report back with impressions as if what I say is somehow important.

    OH IT IS!

...MHF2 is like Phantasy Star Online? Okay, I can dig it.

Co op missions in FFT sound like great fun. Duel mode also.. can we take our customized armies against eachother? (my lvl 40's vs his lvl 10's?)

    I'm excited about the possibilities.

So GTA is pretty okay, but with 2 players it's not amazingly fun. Four or more would be a blast, though.

Hot Shots Goooooolf! Open Tee is fantastic, and with local multi you're going to have a blast. Also, while I really hated the single-player of Monster Hunter Freedom 2, even I agree it'd be great if you have friends to play it with.
