There's a new addition to the family of party games available on Xbox 360! "Rocky and Bullwinkle" is available exclusively on Xbox LIVE Arcade, along with an enhanced version of the tank vs. tank action classic "Battlezone" this Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. GMT (1:00 a.m. PDT).

Based on the popular cartoon series of the 1960s, "Rocky and Bullwinkle" on Xbox LIVE Arcade is a fast and fun party experience packed with more than 100 micro games. Eight playable characters from Frostbite Falls are back in the living room, including Rocky, Bullwinkle, Boris, Natasha, Dudley Do-Right and many more. "Rocky and Bullwinkle" features five difficulty settings, as well as support for up to 12 players in local hot-seat mode.

The game takes visual inspiration from the 1960s with a decidedly retro art style, but the fun is as modern as it gets. In fact, cool cats who want to get up and move will enjoy 25 micro games that work with the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera. By moving around and expressing gestures - like rowing a boat or throwing darts - players can control the action in the game!

Developed by Zen Studios, "Rocky and Bullwinkle" will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. For more details on "Rocky and Bullwinkle" please visit:

"Battlezone" on Xbox LIVE Arcade adds exciting new multiplayer modes for up to two players both locally and over Xbox LIVE, including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. Plus, players can use the Xbox LIVE Vision Cam to challenge opponents on the battle field. Combine these features with new special effects for weapon firing, impacts and explosions and this revamped version of "Battlezone" is a must-have classic that fans and newcomers will enjoy.

To score points in "Battlezone," players must shoot and destroy the enemy's brigade including a standard enemy tank, supertank and a flying saucer.

Created by Atari, an enhanced version and the original version of "Battlezone" will be available worldwide (with the exception of Korea and Japan) for 400 Microsoft Points and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. For more details on "Battlezone" please visit:

Battlezone sounds like fun. Not so sure about Rockey and Bullwinkle.

edit: Actually looking at the screens and info about the game Battlezone looks fucking amazing. Only 400 MS points too.

Partygame? Xbox Live Arcade? Any more of these that have escaped my attention?

I have a feeling this particular party game may be kind of kiddie in nature ... my biggest problem with multiplayer XBLA titles is with the notable exception of Catan, Uno and a couple others -- most of them become barren wastelands a couple weeks after release.

Hell Undertow they gave away for free and I've heard it's still hard to get a game going.

Carcassonne being the exception to most.

I like that it will be more aimed at kids, I need an excuse to get my wife to let my kids play. You can't imagine the hilarity of playing Carcassonne with a 7 year old and a 5 year old. Well, I mean playing with them in the same room as you... most of the XBLA people we play with act like 7 and 5 year olds. And by hilarity I mean them giving me dirty looks and calling me mean when I steal their cities. I learned to play chess from my father who was very relentless in the instruction, and I amazed myself by continuing to play him even though he was tired of winning. I can even still remember the sense of accomplishment from the first time I beat him. Later he claimed that he let me win, but I refused to believe it :)

I keep meaning to Carcassonne at some point since I missed out on Free Carcasspnne in November due to having a RRoD. But I've been waiting for them to release some of the big expansions for it. After playing regular tabletop Carcassonne with Inns and Cathedrals, Traders and Builders, Princess and the Dragon, The Tower, and Abbey and Mayor, going back to vanilla Carcassonne is just odd.

    Battlezone needs more RTS action.
I mean they should re-release the PC revamp on XBL

This thread needs more of The Thumper.
    *Ground creates a giant wave*

My brother says it's the one and only RTS he likes because he can shoot along side the troops at his command. (Though he enjoyed Advance Wars for a time.)

Shit, it's still my favorite, and I'd want to see more like it.

Battlezone is sooo bought. I played the hell out of it in the arcade. I still love playing that game. I was really disappointed with the other atari titles being a huge letdown. Thankfully battlezone isn't getting this kind of treatment. I think battlezone's actual original arcade file size was something like 20kb~

I find irony in this fact.

    Battlezone? That's getting some playtime.

Wonder if we'll ever see the classic star wars arcade game.
