So a few months ago, I let a friend of mine use my Debit card to make a paypal account with which to sell my old WoW character. He made the transaction, case closed, I heard nothing of my account for quite some time. My actual bank account (which is tied to it and I check daily) remained at a constant level and wasn't tampered with by anyone but me.
Today I got a letter in the mail from a collections agency saying I owe some company $189. I have made no transactions with my paypal account. It said it was in regards to my "delinquent" paypal account. I haven't used this shit since my friend and I made it, I don't even know the password. I called him and he said, in his traditionally shady way, he didn't know and would call me back.
I am at a loss for what to do. What happened? How did this happen? What can I do? I'm incredibly angry and worried about this right now.
