Anyone have any experience with this device? My plan is to hook it up to my router, plug it in, then hook up my PS3 downstairs and plug the PS3 to the other outlet. I know it won't be as fast as wired, but all I want to do is play the PS3 online, and this HAS to be faster than a wireless router, especially considering the signal would have to travel a couple of walls.
So yeah, anyone have this and can give an opinion about theirs? Here is the link. http://www.wirelesshut.com/0/10755345.html
How old is your house? Powerline networking can have issues with older houses. Also, if the power company reads your meter remotely I've heard that these things can screw that up.
However, I imagine that it would work fine for what you want to do.

I'm not sure how old the house it. We found this pepsi can in the walls when we were renovating.
It's prolly from the 60's, so that should be ok, right?
Also, what do you mean read remotely?
Also, thanks Daenris, but I live in Canada and stupid Amazon.ca doesnt have them and amazon.com doesnt ship to Canada. Also, your site ships only one. The ones I posted ship 2 which is necessary.
As far as it working with your wiring it's hard to say. There's not really a good way to test without hooking the thing up. Lots of GFCI's will mess with it. If you have mulitiple circuits it might not work. Stupid shit like some outlets being wired backwards would probably be bad (this was the case in my house when I moved in). If your house has grounded outlets that is a good sign. If they are 2 prong that is a bad sign. This is from a US perspective, Canada might be different. Just make sure they have a good return policy and give them a try.
Reading remotely means that the electric company is doing the same thing you are. They use powerline networking to connect to your meter so that they don't have to physically go out and check it. If you are also using a powerline network device it can break theirs. Hopefully this isn't an issue anymore, this was a few years ago when I heard about it.

Hmm, ok. Yeah, every outlet in my house is 3 pronged.

Hopefully though you weren't planning on buying it from the site you linked. Amazon has it for like $64, and possibly even cheaper elsewhere. (Edit: Provantage has it for $47 http://www.provantage.com/actiontec-hle08500-01~7ACTI041.htm )

edit: though Provantage has the 2-pack for 75.62. http://www.provantage.com/actiontec-hle08500-01k~7ACTI044.htm and they ship to Canada as far as I know.
Awesome, thanks chief!
