Windows Movie Maker

So, not sure where to go with this so I figured I'd ask in here. I have this video I want to edit using windows movie maker and I saved it as a project which makes it a mswmm or somesuch file. The problem I'm having is that I happen to have saved it using the Vista version of windows movie maker and I want to take it to my school computer and edit it there, but the school computer is using the XP version of windows movie maker. The XP version of Movie Maker refuses to recognize the file. Does anyone know any way to convert a newer windows movie maker file to an older one?

I only ask because when I try to import it to the XP one (the wmv file, not the movie maker file from the vista version) it doesn't seem to work either (specifically the audio track plays fine in the timeline, but it doesn't show the video at all; yet when it's not in the timeline, it shows the video). So all I'm stuck with is the vista movie maker version, seemingly.

If anyone has any experience with Windows Movie Maker, any help would be appreciated.
