No, the thing is that it can auto-agregate from sites like flickr and such, so that it compiles photos taken by like a thousand different people and works out how they all fit together. Once they have enough photos of a given area (usually high-volume touristy places where there are lots of pictures to compare) they can automate the process and the pictures assemble themselves.
Also think of the uses for porn. You can create incredible panoramas of every possible penetration angle and 3D fly-by cumshots.

I like the tech demo that features some climbers climbing a huge cliff, that entire scene was amazing. It's one part like panoramic with high rez photos and another part fun slideshow all in pseudo 3d.
