Hey guys, looking for a litte advice. Was playing away on my 360 last night, when completely out of the blue there was a loud noise (best way to describe the noise is an electirc "crackle") and the console turned itself off.
Checked the surge protector and that looked fine, and no other equipment turned off (TV, Freeview box, Router). Disconnected the power brick from the wall and from the console, had a look on Microsoft Support and found this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906103 which says to leave the brick to cool for a few hours.
Anywho, power brick was left overnight in a cool room but when I plugged in this morning the light on the brick does not light up at all.
Did some further searching, and a few places are saying that the power bricks are only covered by a 90 day warranty (360 is about 8 months old), however I cannot find anything to this effect on the Microsoft Support pages.
Basically just have some questions for you lovely guys and gals;
1) Has anyone else had fried power bricks? If so, are they worth calling MS Support over or are they not covered by warranty?
2) If it is not covered by warranty, where can I get a replacement? (in the UK)
3) Now that the power brick has gone, does that mean the console will RRoD when I get a new brick, or should it be uneffected?
Cheers for any help,

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
Dunno where all the hate for MS Support comes from, phoned them at 9:01 this morning and was through to an advisor in a few minutes who just happened to be the most helpful advisor I have ever spoken to from any company Polite, good English (for a call center), and she actually seemed like she wanted to help.
Long story short, they are going to send out a new Power Brick in 10 working days but they can't say if that will fix the issue or if the console is FUBAR. They also didn't mention anything about the brick being on a different warranty from the console (and i didn't want to ask and put that idea into her head), so either those are false reports or it is luck of the draw depending on which advisor you get.
