Zero Punctuation: Retard Reaction Round Up; I fucking hate you people

Not to stray too far off-topic, the No More Heroes review is my favourite if only for the ending. I could barely contain my laughter, and there aren't many things that make me burst like that.

I thought the line itself was funny, but that his delivery of it was a little off.
Let's see how far this thread can go without invoking the dreaded retard shitstorm.
Till Wednesday at the latest.
Hate to sound like a retard myself, but what's the retard shitstorm? I haven't ever looked at one of these threads (or these videos for that matter) so I don't know.

Basically wait til a new review comes up and see people find something to bitch about whether it be he trashed a game they like so they don't find him funny anymore or that he dissed a genre of games or because he used flaunt instead of flout. This will eventually turn into a 2-3 page wank off to see who can jack off into the other person's face first.
I'm going to come in here and defend it to the death.
Well it does bother me to see people saying "Yahtzee didn't like this game so I won't buy it" and taking his word as gospel. That's not to say he's really wrong about a game, but just to say "he didn't like it" is stupid. He draws out the flaws with the game, but does also comment on the good stuff too, and it's his subjective opinion in the end. If you don't find the flaws he highlights to be an issue, then you'll probably enjoy the game.

Yeah, I saw them just as I posted. Jesus Christ, are people really that fucking stupid? I mean I'd expect that from like GameFAQs or NMA but here? Really?

I guess so. I mean, sure there are retards here and everything. It's just been so long since I've really seen a couple of 'tards around here arguing I guess it shocked me to find out they still do.
I trust Yahtzee's review a lot, but they are just one opinion. He dislikes some games I love, but his criticisms are for the most part completely accurate (although often exaggerated for comedic effect).
The point is, I put as much weight in his opinion as that of anyone who's opinion I trust, more often than not he encourages me to try out games I might have missed (like I have just recently added the first Condemned to my "To play" list), and he rarely turns me off games I would have otherwise been interested in.
He gives me much more useful information than the majority of reviews, which just tell me how big the marketing budget was for a game, how polished it is, how easy it is to pigeon-hole and how accessible it is.
Edit: to be fair, most of the time when the thread goes down retard alley it is the culmination of a lot of people saying some very slightly stupid things and then other people adding to it, it's (iirc) never anywhere near as bad as gamefaqs or indeed the internet in general.
When he reviews a game I've played, I tend to agree with the points he makes or can at least understand where he's coming from. None of he's reviews, however, have ever made me change my mind about buying a game.
I trust Yahtzee more than most review sources. Shit, at least Yahtzee tells me his actual opinion about the game. In contrast with most reviewers, he's not afraid to piss anyone off.

I agree with everything you just wrote here.
Yeah, when the thread goes downhill, it's very much a snowball effect. Something gets said that's slightly out of line, someone else jumps in, and the whole thing gets bigger and more retarded as it goes on. Like mentioning The Matrix, for instance.

Sometimes his negative reviews make me want to buy the game.
Re: The Witcher.
Heh heh, The Witcher was his only review that sent me off to retard-ville. 'Cause I'm passionate about CRPG's, damn it. I was amused to see that he poked fun of the lack of time he spent playing The Witcher in the last review.

I'm going to flaunt conventions here and say that I think there will be no bickering in this thread.
fuck you man i'll bicker if i want
The hell you are.
Want to bicker about it?
From what I hear of it
Holy crap this could be absolutely hilarious.
Epic. Every single one, whether I played the game in question or not.
hint: not very

He's fine as an entertainer, but he's not a reviewer because his opinions are wrong.
I'm going to come in here and defend it to the death.

Yes.
Impossibly so.

"What made these large webs I wonder?" asked Jill as she stared at a giant spider.
