Oblivion mods

Decided to run a replay of Oblivion with all the knights of the nine and shivering isles stuff.. now I need all the old mods that made it awesome. Stuff like the weather mod, open cities (no loading to enter cities), graphical touch-ups and stuff. I can't remember all of them, it's been a while.

Anyway, I just made this thread for everyone to call out their top 10 favorite oblivion mods and what sites to get 'em at.

edit: I was under the impresison the TES thread was just about the series in general, but if I should direct this question here feel free to delete the thread (mods).

I recenty gave it a runthrough with FCOM: Convergence. It's basically a way to run the game with the three most popular overhaul mods active at the same time. The project is still in the beta stages but works like a charm once you get it up and running, the actual mods have been around a while and are well developed. The installation process will, however, fuck your brains up and make you cry at least four times.

FCOM sort of makes oblivion into...you know...an awesome experience compared to the rather "meh" gameplay of the vanilla. Don't ge me wrong, I loved the game unmodded but there were just too many "what the fuck were they thinking!?"-moments.

Also, there was a thread a couple of months ago discussing Oblivion modding but I don't have enough time to look for it. It even sported a FCOM trailer

I've been trying to get the FCOM mod to work but its making me cry (for the third time, now). A step by step guide would be appreciated if anyone can scrounge one up :)

I cant get it to work either, I think i'm following the instructions and load order (oh god the load order) and oblivion crashes on launch. So i'm just using OOO and a few other small mods to play.

I haven't even gotten that far, I'm trying to figure out how to install OOO using the oblivion mod manager (got a ready install pack apparently) but I can't figure out how to execute the commands.

This recent thread would be a good place to look, too.

Yeah, the install is pure hell. Just read all the stuff on the homepage and you'll figure it out.

    Basically it's:

    1. Install the required mods
    2. Install Wrye bash
    3. Activate mods in the correct order through wrye bash
    4. Merge all the crap in wrye bash
    5. Pray to deity of choice
    6. Start game

    additional steps

    7. Swear a lot
    8. Realize load order is wrong
    9. Repeat from step 3 until done

I think I spent an afternoon just to get it working, I'd say it was worth it though. I guess it's supposed to be one big autoinstaller in the future when it leaves the beta stage so you might be able to wait it out.

[Edit] Yeah, the thread above was the one I couldn't find. It contains 30 something pages on FCOM and other mods

Actually, let's keep the discussion in that thread. No reason to let it waste away.
