I want to pick up a specific model of digital SLR camera, some time in the space of about two months. It's proving difficult to find a good deal. Searching eBay for digital camera bodies is really difficult as it's flooded with vendors selling related-but-still-unwanted stuff. I haven't had much direct luck with Amazon, nor websites like Slickdeals and Fatwallet. Is there any way to simplify this searching process? Like, could any service notify me via email if the model camera I want drops anywhere on the internet below a threshold I'd like to pay? Am I being too idealistic? Do I have to just stick it out and manually search every resource several times daily? If I could save some money on my item, I'd be really happy!
As far as advice for buying cameras online... stay as far away from shady NY camera dealers as possible. If the deal looks too good, it is a scam. Stick to fatwallet and slickdeals and reputed online stores (Amazon, etc).

Also, when looking for a good deal, i'll check out froogle.com (now http://www.google.com/products) and then when I find a good deal i'll google/forum review the seller's site. Be on guard for fake reviewers, and superficial, easily scammable "review" sites that tell you a company is great.
It's a lot of trouble though, the "best" deal is often a few bucks lower than the "safe" deal. And that peace of mind is worth the cash.

B&H Photo/Video is a non-scammy NY site.
Otherwise, yeah, just stick with Amazon or Buy.
