The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
It seems to be PAX this and PAX that. Well, I don't know about you, but my main nerd event of the year is going to be the San Diego Comic Con. Not only are some of my favorite creators going to be there, but there's 90% less of a chance that I'm going to get raped by some dillhole from the internet wearing an ironic cat-ears hat.
Not that the odds on that still aren't good.
So, like, who is going?
(People that are going)
Me
Fiz
Bogey
Nads
borfase
futility
Qorzm
Spex
Johnny Fabulous
MolotovCockatoo
Urian
SARS Boy
HEY WHO WANTS TO GO TO DINNER ON THURSDAY NIGHT?
We're going to this place. And no, they don't take reservations. So everyone is going to have to be on time. I'm thinking 7:30 would be a good time to start. Getting there earlier than that would be nice, though.
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will probably be here this summer to promote the Wolverine movie. Making out.
I guess since there was a new Harold and Kumar movie they might bring back those horrible white castle girls. The cellulite on those thighs was so depressing two years back (or three?)
my friend went last year and was kind enough to get a book signed by raymond feist for me! i was planning on going this year before i signed up for the forums and decided to go to pax

is it just me or is the guest list kind of anemic
that's not a lot of dudes, and especially not a lot of dudes i give a dang about
Was never a big fan of comics. I kind of blame the oddballs it attracted.
Rewind to my teenage years and the playing of Magic the Gathering, we had a pretty tight group and this was our pass time for the lunch hour as we hadn't quite figured out how to talk to the opposite sex yet, nor dress ourselves.
After school, we would make our way to the comic book/video game/anime rental/Magic card/clusterfuck shop to pick up some packs and be disappointed.
One of my friends who had figured out how to talk to women, and people in general was a rather extraverted type. He was trying to chat up the store owner who was conversing with a regular. His name was Dwight. He was a courtroom artist of all things. His response? "DON'T TRY AND SABOTAGE THE DEAL!". His exact words. See he'd order this pile of comics and discuss his payment. Regularly.
His behavior at times was always, eh, peculiar. More peculiar then ours that's for sure. My friend once told me of a time he bumped into Dwight at the library. My friend decided to make use of one of the computers there; this was back in the days where you had basically a text base interface. Well Dwight didn't like that one bit, practically bowled him over and sat down right before my friend even had the chance.
I doubt I'll go this year. much like PAX, I'm not really so much into the material presented to really want to go. I go for the people. and socal people are smelly lumpkins

This year will be interesting. I've made friends with professional costume designers, so I could get a nice looking super hero outfit out of them if I play my cards right and pay them.
Just need to stop eating long enough to get into taskmaster shape
It'd be nice if people like zerofill, belruel, and bendery showed up this year. I know they are in the area but they never show up. Stop being butts, people.
I'm going to try SO HARD to stick around after 8pm this year. It's really hard because that is my bedtime.
As it turns out, a lot of those beefy security guards who seem to be there every year are all involved with the San Diego Opera in some way. They'll undoubtably be working again this year in "power" positions from their years of experience. Maybe this could work out well for once.
Adult Swim's panel was awesome! And there was no escaping after it was over, ever! Goddamn watches.
I got to meet Stan Lee! And then was brushed aside. Guarded like the Pope, he was.
The watches weren't as cool as the sketchbooks and socks they had. People still are amazed by those.
You know those bags they gave out at the Cartoon Network booth last year? The paper thing with the doodles of all their original cartoons? That was my favorite thing ever until the paper wore through and forced me to get a real case for my stuff
Penguin - Pokemon had the best panel. Bag of stuffed toys and journals, followed by a q&a session which will live in infamy.

daaaaamn
I'm going to send a registered Superboy Prime offender after you.
that's not a lot of dudes, and especially not a lot of dudes i give a dang about
He was pretty chill
signed my Sam & Max sketchbook too
You're just upset that every time horrible people show up I manage to hide faster than you.
Enjoy talking to people other than Posehn
It's probably just early. Those things usually flesh out in June
yeah but they also have three months to announce more people
I'd love to go to SDCC but it's expensive, so I'll stick with Emerald City. Which, surprisingly, has a lot of people I want to see.
make a list

So yeah, wierdos.
I'm looking at the "Special Guest" list now. . . goddamn there's a lot of fucking honkies going to Comic Con.
Why you gotta break balls? I told you about my secret date with Bogey so you could give him a fag drag and everything
i don't even know what any of that means
Just need to stop eating long enough to get into taskmaster shape
i don't know what that is either
i am not up-to-date on my homosexual lingo
but i don't think that's actually gonna happen
which sucks because i want to go to sdcc more than pax, but pax has more dudes i want to see
It replaced the Adult Swim panel
This and PAX are my dreams
Which better be fucking true. They put on the best panel I've ever been too. . . except maybe Warren Ellis. It's a close call.
