Diablo 2 on Mac OS X

I bought the Diablo battle chest today and installed it on my MacBook Pro (running OS X 10.4). The installation went fine and since the product was new it even had the OS X installer. The problem is when I start the game. I get to the menu screen and everything goes wonky. The text at the top that reads "Diablo II" moves back and forth and is never centered or aligned. None of the menus actually display and the background doesn't show up properly. I can hear the mouse over sound and clicking noise when you select a menu option yet nothing changes.

I tried installing it on my brother's iMac and had the exact same issue.

Are you running "Diablo II (Carbon)" or the other one? You should be using Carbon.

edit: yes, and windowed is a good idea

Ah yes I just figured out that windowed mode works. There's no way to play full screen?

Use the Diablo II (Carbon) and configure the video to use software rendering and not OpenGL. That made it work for me.

This was the solution for me, too.

Does OSX not have OpenGL or something? o_O

Different question. Is there a way to play the original Diablo on OS X?

I searched about that, and so far the result are: without os 9 (classic) you can't, and you absolutely can't when intel-based
