I'm pretty stoked for this, because ever since A.C.E. 3, I've been hoping for Eureka Seven and Gundam X to appear in the next SRW game. Good to see it came true.

I had no idea Big O was actually popular in Japan. (It took direct financial assistance from Cartoon Network to bring the show back, and even then it was just for one more season.)

Namco Bandai could of done it probably (it might be a bit early though) but they'd have to pay whatever licensing fees Gainax demanded.

    They're not in this one.

SRW's are self contained pretty much. They're like Final Fantasy, generally each game is it's own unique story. There are exceptions, of course, but it's pretty easy to see them.

    It isn't.

That dosn't stop them from desiding to put it in some games.

Heck, being in a SRW has actually increased some animes popularity.

    Fun facts about this game:

    - It's the start of a new series (much like Alpha/Alpha 2/Alpha 3)
    - It takes place in a post-apocalyptic future
    - The mecha designer/director of Gravion will be handling original unit designs
    - It's going to be totally fucking awesome

The producer of the SRW games has a policy to wait until two years after a show finishes to put in SRW to avoid spoiling people who haven't seen it yet, so all bets are off in 2009.

Over on Junk Guild, they say that this is the beginning of a new series, just like Alpha, Plus it will take place in a world similar to Alpha Gaiden.

I expect Gurren Lagann to be in the second and third games (to compensate for the time skip), along with Gun X Sword (I would love nothing more than to see the El Dora 5 in SRW!), and Kotetsushin Jeeg in the third.

Are there ways to "Install" a english translation?

Nadesico was in J and recently in W including the lackluster PoD. EVA has been a staple in the Alpha continuity, with Alpha 3 containing the End of Evangelion.

I will say it's kinda sad to see GaoGaiGar go, though. I secretly wanted them to throw in other Yuusha shows like Might Gaine, Goldran, etc. so Gaine and the other Braves could get a Combo attack with Guy.

I think the low selection of Super Robots is upsetting. W was fun because it had stuff like Golion/Voltron and of course, GaoGaiGar one last time.

I'm happy to see Gundam X, though. makes up for the crappiness of Destiny. They still need Shiro and the 08th team in one of these games though. closest they've ever came has been 0083. Also, I'd like to see Victory Gundam again. I want my Real Robot Getter Robo again.

    Also, No Macross. :(

In other news, Holy Fuck is OG Gaiden awesome. Folka and Kouta pretty much trivialize the game, though.

Looking at the list, it seems really Real heavy. but that might just be because of how Large GaoGaiGar's cast is.

I* guess what I'm saying is, the Real series will bring far more secondary characters and units than the Super Ones will. Big O is just going to be use Roger Smith and Big O, I imagine. (Unless they pull something like Schwartzvald turning good or something crazy like that. like they did with Master Asia a few times.) where, SEED Destiny is going to likely bring a LOT of secodary Characters and "cannon fodder" characters.

You can't fit every series into every game. They tried that with Alpha 3 and it didn't mesh nearly as well as one would hope.

Given the post-apocalyptic setting I would not be surprised if G will be in Z2 though. Since this is a new series they're likely trying to ease people in, which is why we're getting a never-before-seen amount of new series in the game.

Roughly 11 out of 20 shows, not counting sequels, are super robot shows. It doesn't have Macross, but it does have Superdimensional Century Orguss, which was made by almost all the staff that did Macross and uses some very similar designs. 08th MS team has also been in previous SRW games and will be included in the new SRW A Portable. I don't think Gai or the other Braves series are gone for good from the SRW series, it just doesn't seem to fit with the other series in the list. Plus Gai was just in W and Alpha 3, so it's better to give him a break and let in other series before it becomes overused.

I'm really looking forward to this game. It's using a lot of new series and series that have only been used a couple times. The inclusion of Orguss is going to make for some crazy happenings with it's Dimensional Bomb. I'm hoping there is going to be a scene where Kei meets Loran. For people wondering "Why isn't X series in this when it's been in previous games" that the SRW games, aside from maybe the Alpha series, doesn't really keep piling on series just to have robots in them. They make a single storyline using most of the series and their characters.

Also, the two year policy has been broken by Turn-A Gundam in Alpha Gaiden and another series I believe.

I fully expect to have a fairly normal SRW with Zeta and SEED D and the first episode of Orguss and a few other series that don't need Crazy World Settings for the first ten levels or so, sort of like Alpha Gaiden.

And then the Dimensional Bomb goes off and shit starts getting insane.

    Point/Counter Points of Alpha 3

    Good:
    1. Original (Balmar War) content. (Epic Keisar Ephes fight is epic.)
    2. GaoGaiGar FINAL (Ecellent, and it helps you get ready for the harder stages to come. GUTS AND COURAGE!)
    3. Macross 7 finale. (Hard, but it teaches you a crucial skill to help you survive Gebel Ganedens and Keisar Ephes. Using the seishin that reduces enemy moral so they cant hit you with big stuff, and in Gelpinich's example, to disable that pesky Protodevlin damage reduction. but, it was so friggin EPIC

    )
    4. End of Evangelion (longer and more annoying than it needs to be, it's fucking EVA, but it's balanced out to get a chance to have Zengar cleave the EVA. or for Guy to show Shinji what Guts and Courage can accomplish.)
    5. the Gunbuster stuff, (while, very Difficult. as those pesky STMCs and tough and seem to have unending numbers. it's very awesome by the end of it. it really pays off for your hard work, though. watch towards the end of this Gunbuster attack video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdErfR-Iu0c)

    Bad:
    1. All of the SEED stuff, ALL OF IT. The finale is especially annoying, as you have a ton of stuff to deal with. most of the time, you just want to end it so it doesn't go on for forever, and by the nature of the finale, there is a LOT to deal with.

    2. The Ideon junk. the Buff Clan are just such a pain to deal with. and Ideon itself is just so unrealiable with the Ide Guage.

    3. Some Original Balmar stuff. the Neviims are just unfair at times.

The good outweigh the bad, though.

I am pumped, especially since this is the first time we're getting Big O Season 2.

Also do not hold your breath. It is SRW Tradition that CCA pops into a game for the sole purpose of giving Amuro a Gundam that isn't the original.

I do like Big O, but I'm more excited over the inclusion of King Gainer, Gravion, Turn A, Xabungle, and Orguss. I was kind of hoping that Brain Powered would have made it in since King Gainer and Nelly Brain had a combination attack in ACE3 an they did share some similarities. I also wish that Giant Robo made it in since it bares some similarity with Big O in terms of style, but I think it would fit in better with Getter Robo Armageddon.

I doubt there'll be Hi Nu, maybe if there is a sequel to SRW Z. If there is, I really hope they also put in the Nightingale for Char.
