Zombie Viva Pinata? (Not really, new WiiWare title)
Animales de la Muerte plays similarly to classic fixed position shooting games like Smash TV and, more recently, Alien Syndrome for Wii (the latter of which failed to live up to its potential, sadly). Since the title has been developed specifically with Wii in mind, High Voltage has naturally been able to make much better use of the Wii remote than SEGA did. To play, you move your character around the screen with the nunchuk's analog stick and aim with Nintendo's pointer. You aren't merely limited to shooting in various directions -- you can also very quickly and accurately target enemies with pinpoint precision (using an on-screen reticule) and blast them to bloody pieces. This control method nurtures the characters abilities to run in one direction and simultaneously shoot into another. In addition, a speedy flick of the nunchuk will toss grenades at whatever spot you've got your reticule aimed. You can go it alone or with up to three friends in a four-player single-screen cooperative mode, which becomes chaotic.
Smash TV with Mexican children shooting Zombie animals.
Yes, that is totally awesome.
PICS!
CONCEPT ART!
This brings my total number of Wiiware games I'm excited for higher than any other platform out there, DS and Wii included.
Begining with White Men Can't Jump on the jaguar. That was a fucking abortion - worst basketball game EVER (even worse than Slam City With Scottie Pippen).

Yeah the only good game on that list I see that list is Lego Racer
Yeah, I've got my doubts about all their stuff IGN has whored itself out for over the past week. That said, the description of this game included the term 'zombie zoo animals' and a reference by one of the devs to the humor of Army of Darkness. Fucking that up would require active sabotage.

On the bright side, this is really their 3rd or 4th original game. Everything else has either been based off licenses or ports of other, better games.
Maybe since this is their original baby, they'll put shitloads of love and work into it and it'll be amazing.
Ummm QB Club 2001 was actually my favorite football game since Joe Montana's Talk Football on the Genesis. And my current roommate I didn't know until like 4 years ago also loves/loved the game. So they have made atleast 1 great game in their past.
Also, so these are the guys making conduit!? Ha ha that explains it.
They just did the port. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt as at least half of the crappy games they made was shit guaranteed to be crap no matter what.
Edit: Actually, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because the game has zombie fighting nuns.
The gameplay video actually makes this game look fun, albeit simplistic, especially in multiplayer.
But, you know, why even give it a chance? I mean it's going to suck, right?
Do you generally pick up stuff like Billy The Wizard or Ninjabread Man and go "Hmm, I should give this a chance! In fact I'll grab those and this That's so Raven game for DS!"
High Voltage Software has announced that they are currently working on five Wii titles including The Conduit and the Wiiware games Gyrostarr and Animales de la Muerte. All games will use the Quantum3 engine. High Voltage has said that there should be more games on Wii that are orientated towards the hardcore audience on Wii.

Game's gonna be hardcore, apparently.
Too bad it seems that - if this thread is anything to go by - the hardcore audience despises High Voltage.
I think some people are unaware of the nature of WiiWare...are XBLA titles shovelware too?

Sure the hardcore audience despises them now, but they're quite a fickle bunch, aren't they?
If any of the games, High Voltage develop, start getting good reviews accross the board, they probably won't care too much about how much they used to despise them.
So far, I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt. It'll probably be cheap, the concept art looks nice and the basic concept/gameplay looks appealing to me.
I thought the other Wii Ware title they showed this week looked promising as well.
At least they seem to be making an effort with their current Wii development, which is more than I can say for most developers.
After seeing what Way Forward did with Contra 4, I'm willing to give devs some benefit of the doubt. Somtimes all it takes is getting loosed from the shackles of licensed shovelware to see flashes of brilliance. Bare minimum, the premise and style of this game absolutely kick ass and are worth keeping an eye on.

Though I'm a zombie whore.
from the makers of White Men Can't Jump. Hoo-ray.

times a million.
I guess this is what Wii Ware is all about. Crazy new titles that would never make it on to shelves because publishers would be too pussy to back it.
Hunter:The Reckoning and Harvey Birdman were decent to good.
ever
I'll give you Hunter
Birdman, eh
Sold.
Holy shit what a terrible resume.

I wouldn't get too excited.

baahahah
I love it
EH? Despite High Voltage being a B-grade developer, this game looks pretty great. Now, if this was White Men Can't Jump 2, then I'd see your point.
That shit's cold SPI. Smash TV with zombie animals! Luchadors drop kicking through the rotting corpse of an animal!

I can't speak for the rest of the list, it all looks shit to me. Especially leisure suit larry, you bastards, why did you have to wreck good things :x
Killing zombies never gets old - now some kids using gatling guns and chainsaws to kill zombified animals?
That's pure awesome.

I'm sorry, I don't speak Spanish. Does anyone have a translation of this post?
Neat, it's like Cannon Fodder with the guy from Desperado and the nun from Blues Brothers.
Anywhoo, my only nitpick is the two player co op. Go for 4 player multi!
