Problem with Star Wars :KotoR 2

I'm pretty early into the game at the part where

the old woman ditches you to fight the sith guy

It just so happened that i saved right before that happened. I thought nothing of it and kept going until i got to the part where

her hand gets cut off as you're running off

so i figured "fuck that, i'll reload and strip her of gear before that happens"

Problem now is once i reloaded that save, my main char can no longer use 'security' or mines on any locked doors/chests, while my secondary still can - is this a known issue? I did some googling but found nothing relevant, probably due to the vagueness of the words I used. Gamefaqs was of little help.

I was planning to try putting more points into security once i level, but 'mine' being missing too leads me to believe that wont work.

Help?


edit: loading an even earlier save didnt fix the problem, and the 3rd char seemed affected by it as well

For starters, understand that KOTOR 2 is notoriously buggy. To the point of being unfinished.

Second, can you clear up exactly what's going on a bit? I'm a little confused. Also, are you playing the PC or Xbox version?

This is not going to help very much but if you feel like waiting for Team Gizka to finish you can turn KOTOR II from an incredibly well written and incredibly buggy game into an incredibly well written game. If you have the PC version that is.

The problem seems to have fixed itself today upon opening the game again, so I guess thats over with.


Iceman, my 2nd and 3rd options were missing from the popup menu you get when I encountered any item of importance, like a door or box.
