What is Goal Line Blitz?

Goal Line Blitz is an online football simulation. You can create your own players or even manage your own team.

Getting Started

The basic currency of Goal Line Blitz is flex points. You can use your flex points to create players and teams or level up your players. You can get more flex points by referring friends and extra flex points are sometimes given out at the end of a season.

Since you're not given enough flex points at the start to purchase a team, the first thing you'll want to do is create a player. It costs more flex points to create a popular position player like a quarterback than it does to create a linebacker. Since there are already a lot of popular position players in Goal Line Blitz, your player will likely see more plays and have an easier start if you go with one of the less popular positions. Once you've chosen your position, you'll be able to distribute skill points amongst your player's attributes. This thread gives some advice on distributing your skill points. Leveling up and training can help you boost your skills.

Here's what my player's profile looks like:
picture1mq4.png

Once your player has been created, it's time for him to join a team. You can see if you have any contract offers by going to the contract offers section of your player profile. You will automatically receive contract offers from computer teams, although these may take a day or so to show up.

When you say you can't purchase a team right off the bat, do you know how long it takes to be able to do so? I imagine this would be funner if we could have all the PA created players on a single team, instead of being dispersed to random computer-owned teams.

I was going to make a post about this but I'll just bump this one instead.

This game is awesome and has full game simulations (play-by-play) and keeps track of stats like catches, drops, pancakes, etc.

Here's my main dude, though I just started a new SS too: Dana Barrett

If you feel like helping out someone in addition to registering a player, you can use referral links so we previous players get points we can use to level up or make more guys with. I'm trying to buy a team but fuck spending $10 to have enough points :p Here's my referral link if you're in a nice mood: http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=6249877

Needless to say, this game is doing a great job satisfying my off-season football withdrawal.

They are going to release new teams at the end of this season. A complete season (regular and playoffs) last 40 days. Right now we are on day 22. So if you are interested in getting a team right now is a great time to get a player started and see how much you like it.

Putting together a PA team would be very difficult until Season 3 starts, but you can get on a CPU-controlled team now and get some experience for the rest of the season (I started a new guy earlier this morning, already played a game today).

I'm not a big football fan, but I'm still having a pretty fun time with Goal Line Blitz. Here's a football 101 video that might help you understand things a little better: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uZAwEYXjii0&feature=related

If you want to make it on a human controlled team make sure you go to the forums and post in the free agent section. For your first contract make sure you don't take anything more than a year so you don't get stuck with an owner while feeling out the game.

Also it costs flex points to become an owner but not to be a GM. So anyone who is interested in getting a team when one comes up can grab a couple of the more experienced people to run it if they want.

I'm actually really enjoying this game. I have a lvl 8 TE and a level 6 guard. The game is still in beta and they are still ironing out some problems. For instance, they were recently getting complaints about teams going for field goals on 2nd down and 2. But the devs are really good about fixing stuff and they add new things all the time.

You can't buy any teams right now because they are all currently owned. They've added some more D leagues for new people to cut their teeth, but are waiting until next season to add any more teams to the human leagues.

Awesome game for my TE: got bumped to 2nd-string, then only caught one ball and his second catch was a fumble. Also had two drops.

I think the CPU D leagues play everyone about equal to make sure you get reps. Once the season is over and they add new teams it will be really easy to get a good contract on a human controlled team. Just don't sign any multi year deals until you have a good idea of what makes a good team to be on.

For those worried about playing time, you won't get much this season if you are 3rd string (or worse), but you should be able to find your niche when you join a new team for next season, assuming you do your research right. With only a few games left in Season 2, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Also, to my boneheaded owner: I know your TE is one level better than mine, but he can't block worth shit. When our offense is 80% run you should really give the blocking TE some more playing time. Thank you.

From what I was reading the CPU owned teams do a fair job of splitting playing time evenly. Based off that, I figure a few seasons under CPU control to build up stats to a 1st-2nd string level might be a good idea before looking for a player controlled team where a 3rd string guy may never see much time.

If the split time thing isn't the case for CPU teams either then it may still be worth it to not have to deal with random bonehead owners until someone here starts a team (if that is what we are going for).

Yeah, I was poking around the newbie forums there and a lot of people are suggesting you should immediately try to land on human control teams once you create a new player. I figured w/ the season so close to over, I was just going to play it out on the cpu team and build the players as I want them for the start of next season. Going w/ a pass block specialist for the OT and a run stuffing specialist for the DT.

Making a specialist and getting on a team with a smart manager/coordinator is also a good idea if you're worried about playing time (though IMHO it's just better to be a starter on a A team rather than 2nd or 3rd string on a AAA or Pro team).

Also I'd recommend staying away from the skill positions (QB, WR, HB). I have two dudes (tight end and cornerback) and I find both positions very rewarding. The least rewarding is probably O-Line, but they are known to level up faster than anyone else too.
