Dell laptop - HD = dead

Just bought a new laptop, dropped my phone on it, dent, and consequent hard drive clicking. Now it won't boot into windows and the diagnostic says it is fucked. Getting it replaced isn't a problem as I have the awesome Dell warranty, but getting my 300 gig or porn. I mean, music and school work, is a problem.

I have absoutely NO idea how to do this, or if it is even possible. I am not retarded when it comes to computers, but need a bit of guidance. Is this even possible? I know it depends on how fucked it is, but anyone know of any guides or anything for a first time "crushed my hard drive" situation? It isn't really CRUSHED, the phone is tiny, but it did the trick.

for the record, it is actually school work and music I have lost :( I think my Japan photos too!

Thanks a lot :)

Try putting the laptop drive into desktop PC or a USB enclosure and see if you can access it. If the drive is a SATA drive you will not even need a converter to put it into a desktop. The laptop drive uses the same connectors a it's desktop counter parts.
