So, the 360 has no built in wireless, and the accessory adapter is 100$. There's no way I'm paying that, is there any other solution to get online wirelessly?

Any wireless to ethernet bridge should work, including game adapters from last-gen like the one for Xbox 1.

    Logitech Play Link.

Windows Internet Connection Sharing if you have a computer near your 360.

Any router that can be flashed with DD-WRT firmware can be set to act as a wireless to ethernet bridge.

After googling: all I have to do is plug my 360 into my laptop with ethernet, boot into windows, and do some windows setup stuff and it works?

the only problem with doing ICS is that you can't do the streaming transcode video unless your stuff is specifically on the computer it's sharing with.

For my solution I went and picked up a cheap $20 router and installed the DD-WRT firmware and bridged it.
