Okay, now that Crisis Core is out, there are no more ANNOUNCED add ons to the Compilation besides the Blu-Ray version of Advent Children. However, Square has stated that they are not done just yet, and there is more on the way. Seeing as the movie at the end of CC seemed to hint at a remake of FF7, could this happen? And on what console? And if thats not it, what is? Just wondering about this stuff, because a remake in PS3 or even 360 graphics would rock.
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children
Final Fantasy 7: Before Crisis
Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core
Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of Cerberus
Final Fantasy 7: Eternal Crisis
Final Fantasy 7: Final Crisis
2 of these are fake. Guess which two. Then tell me you cannot see them releasing the two fake ones with a horribly fucked up storyline.

Well, the events of Crisis are the pre-Crisis, continuity wise...

Why the heck did my mind go down that avenue? :x
Honestly, the compilation of FF7 doesn't have enough crisis!
While I can't find a direct quote, supposedly Kitase stated it would take a staff of 300 5 years to do the remake to the level of the PS3 Tech Demo.
Seriously? Couldn't they just use the FF13 graphics engine and use random battles? It's not like they have to write the scenario or design characters again. I have no idea how game design works but 5 years just seems a little excessive.
A more recent quote mentioned that they were considering the possibility of a FF7 remake, however they would like to use as much of the original team as possible which makes things somewhat difficult since they're all scattered working on various projects.
Every single component of the Compilation is sub par, barring FF7 I suppose.
Also The Snowboard mobile game is supposed to be fairly rad.
I'll take The After and X-2 any day of the week.
Wasn't Crisis Core supposed to be good?
It's definitely the best out of the series; it had some pretty quick backlash when it released here, but I'm a big fan of Crisis Core. And XoB, have you even played it or are you just going off of GAF threadskimming?
I kind of hope they never remake FF7, as the Internet will still need a legendary vaporware title if/when Duke Nukem Forever finally drops, but if they did finally end the fanboy blueballing and make one I wouldn't be surprised to see it on the PSP instead of PS3.

Unfortunately CC was the reason I rebought the PSP after my first one broke.
Fortunately I found a copy of Portable Ops and learned how to play Gitaroo Man all over again.

The music is the furthest thing from a problem in CC. That was pretty damn good actually, and now I know why.

I don't remember Vagrant Story's soundtrack striking me as outstanding (the rest of the game was great though).
And Bloodyroar, take your pick.
Hell I think CC is better just because all the characters are much more interesting. Granted I'll give that to an awful translation and just old school design, I would assume a FF7 remake would fix alot ff that. But hell after just going through the Nibelheim events in Crisis Core it shows you how much better a prospective FF7 remake could be with the right people making it.
Also Zach is a much more interesting character then Cloud by miles.

My apologies, I didn't even realized you ever owned the system. The way you speak I figured your hands would start burning the moment you picked one up. ;-)
As with most PSP games, the Crisis Core official thread is pretty quiet but a majority of people who bought the game really like it a lot. It's one of those games that you get a good idea of whether you'll like it or not based solely on premise and aesthetic. Hard mode is infinitely more rewarding too.

Then what is your problem with CC?
The gameplay and mission/level design. The story was kinda stupid but then I expected that going in.
I got somewhere into mission 7ish and then finally snapped, all my good will towards the game having evaporated at that point. I let a buddy borrow it and I don't expect it back anytime soon.

Hilariously enough, I do get this odd feeling in my bones whenever I pick up a PSP, but portable Metal Gear action usually quiets that right down. I'm a portable gamer at heart though and can't completely hate anything that gives you gaming on the go. Even cell phones with their weird exclusive sequels to otherwise dead franchises.
honky CC was amazing. I'm a HUGE FF7 fanboy, and loved every moment of CC. I can't wait to go back through that game... But my backlog is already too large.
XoB, if you're a fan of FF7, you MUST beat the game and see the ending. It's so good.
I can't stand it at all, and I really do like Zach and FF7 in general.
Just to clarify: The movie I mentioned in the first post is NOT the PS3 demo, but a movie that I belive was only shown if you beat New Game+ in the japanese version of CC. It starts out like the tech demo, but after Aeris is shown, it then cuts to cloud, face out of frame, looking at the Buster Sword ala Angeal and Zack, then putting it on his back while he says "I'm Cloud Strife, Soldier, 1st Class" As the train rides off, then it cuts to black and a title that reads "TO BE CONTINUED IN FINAL FANTASY VII" You can find it on YouTube under Crisis Core secret movie.

It's most likely a cock-tease, nothing more. SE are scared shitless of a fucking remake. The sequels and shit are their money cows atm and if they miss a couple, then it's not too big a deal they still sell well.
If they fuck up a remake of FF7 then the cash cow dies.
I think you're just overthinking it. Crisis Core is a prequel after all, so they're just reminding you gently of it.
Actually think about it. People want a FF7 remake, they really want it. So you keep dropping these little hints all through the various sequels and prequels and people will buy the next one hoping for more stuff like it. It's a brilliant move on their part really.

Yeah, that's how I see it. Build up a frothing demand, and everyone buys it on the first day anyway. FF7 may be a cash cow, but you can only milk it for spinoffs so many times. After a point, people will stop buying the related junk and want the original.
Look how quickly George Lucas burned through his Star Wars goodwill. By film 3 (if not sooner) people just wanted to watch the original movies again.

Supposed to and actually good are two different things, so yes, one could say that CC was supposed to be good.

Especially the composer oh god Crisis Core's music is orgasmic.
Do... Re... Mi... So... Fa.... Do... Re.... Do...
Forget it...
Somewhere, a fanboy had a stroke reading that.
Edit - Hey wait, who was the composer they used? Not the usual for Final Fantasy games?

Which part or both?
The soundtrack I partially attribute to the awful use of midi sound used in FF7.
I don't remember Vagrant Story's soundtrack striking me as outstanding (the rest of the game was great though).
