    I do, generally, yeah, on name recognition alone (Jeff Van Gundy, Hubie Brown, Reggie Miller, Bill Walton, Greg Anthony, Marc Jackson, etc. etc. etc. who doesn't know their resumes?).

    I guess she's a pure analyst through and through. Now that I've gotten over the effect of trying to figure out if a female was indeed calling the game, I guess I can listen to see if she's actually any good or not.

    Look, I'm all for having females have meaningful sports analysis roles -- but here's the thing, I've met exactly ZERO women who can really hang in a hardcore sports nerd conversation. Some girls can keep up, but they generally can't relate to that deep, deep, super nerdy obsession with numbers and history and gossip and everything else that a certain section of the male population is afflicted with.

    I mean I elbowed a girl in the nose before for annoying me with her Laker "fandom." I expect certain qualifications to be able to join in the conversation.

    No offense, Medo -- I know you know more sports than 95% of the boys on this board, but then again I don't know just how geeky you can get on the topic. Cuz with hardcore sports nuts ... it goes deep ...

    Obviously I don't know, but if I had to wildly guess, I'd say that ESPN would have their pick of any female basketeer they wanted to call a playoff game, because there's not a glut of premier jobs out there for them, and could get some top notch chicks.

    I wouldn't be mad at all with a female coach calling a game, but I don't really want some lame tokenism.

    I'll listen -- if she's good, she's good, but I just spent the last two minutes of the quarter figuring out if indeed it was a woman calling the game. Like, what? That's happening? When did that happen and why wasn't I notified?
