I used to smoke pot, but quit, and my roomate used to smoke pot, but he stopped too. For some reason though, he kept around a small vial of marijuana seeds. We had someone from campus maintenance come over today to our apartment and fix our toilet, and I told him that I was going to put his vial up in his room so the maintenance guys don't see it and narc on us. He tells me to actually toss it...I say "Cool", open it up and throw it outside and tossed the empty vial in the trash.
However, being a pretty stupid and thoughtless person myself, I don't realize that I just threw the pot seeds on a bunch of grass. Whoops. Is there any chance that this pot might...grow? FYI, I live in a climate that gets upwards between 90-100 degrees during the summer with a thunderstorm here and there, a fall that is super cloudy and rainy without much sun, and a winter in which it snows up till about March. He's had the seeds for a while, since around December-January-ish, and the grass I tossed the seeds on is mowed once every two or three weeks or so. Oh, and there were about eight or nine seeds in the vial.
I was kind of freaking out a little bit earlier, and I still have the jitters...just want to know that everything will be OK.
TLDR: Accidentily tossed some marijuana seeds on our grassy lawn, do I need to worry about them taking root and growing?

You're alright.
Supposing they sprouted and grew to a size where they were discernible as cannabis, would that matter? Someone can't go knocking down your door because they found those plants growing nearby.
Basically the plants won't ever get large enough to be seen as cannabis even if they do sprout, which is unlikely.
Anyway, sounds like your summers will be pretty hot and dry so they might dry up; however, since they would be on a lawn, the sprinklers could keep them going. In any case, the snow should kill them and it doesn't sound like there's any evidence that you threw them there.
they probably won;t grow, marijuana is a fickle plant. VERY fickle
but even if they do, how are they going to know it's yours? It'll have to get to like a foot before Joe Workman recognizes it as anything but some weed
chances are they'll just destroy it when they, you know, cut the grass
Just keep an eye out and if there's a problem, pull the weeds, so to speak.
I'm going to be here only for the summer, I'm moving back to the dorms in late August. The reason I'm afraid of them tying the weed to us is that they're kind of in front of the apartment...not directly in front, but down and around the property some.
But it would be hard to tie to us, simply because it's by a road that's used fairly regularly and kind of spread out...anyone could have done it just driving by or something.

don't worry about this at all
also teehee you're paranoid
Anyways, I'm a little drunk right now and not as paranoid. I guess inebriation helps...hmm...
Haha thank you for this.
This.
An ex-roommate of mine tried to grow some plants in his closet with a full indoor-setup. This was without my knowledge.
Aside from the fact that he was, in fact, an idiot, nothing grew. Not even close.
I don't think yours will grow at all.

I did kill one by overwatering it, and another by excessive pruning to make a birthday cake . They also grew quite slowly (I suspect due to non ideal light conditions). It took a several months to get to a foot in height.
So basically, from my experience they aren't that fickle, but I wouldn't expect many of the seeds to germinate even in ideal conditions, and if they do a lawnmower will definitely kill them.
She was very
The plant was taken off her.

I'm not sure what strain they are, and knowing my roomie, he might not even know.
I'm just going to take the advice from within this thread and try not to worry about it, even though as you all have figured out, when it comes to shit like this I get pretty paranoid so it'll be hard not to but I'll probably calm down a bit as the week goes on and the chances that they take root and grow look lesser and lesser. I walk through the lawn quite a bit as I head to the b-ball courts, so I'll take a quick gander now and then and yank any if I see them.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
