Setting up a PS3/Xbox 360 media server under ubuntu
So, back when I ran windows vista, I used TVersity and Winamp Orb to run a media server for my 360 and PS3. Both worked adequately. However, I have yet to find a good alternative on ubuntu. I have a complete shitload of media on my desktop and I'm clueless as to what to try. I know there's a lot of ubuntu users around here, so can anyone give me a good suggestion/tutorial?
FYI, I just googled "tversity linux" and read the thread on www.justlinux.com for recommendations.

I think Azureus may have some media server capabilities as well. Every time I have Azureus running it shows up as a media server in the XMB. Has anyone tried this out before?

Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
I have fuppes installed and configured... I can reload my media library and it is indeed reading all my video and audio directories, but it's not showing up in a media server scan on my PS3 or 360.
I don't know if they have 1.1a binaries yet, so you may have to compile it from the source. But I do know that it works, because that's what we use at my apartment.
Edit:
I just checked, and it's available through Synaptic on a default 8.04 install - just search for package name 'ushare', and you'll be ok. You'll want to use -x when running for Xbox or -d for PS3.

there isn't a combined option for both?
You could try to specify both or run 2 instances of it with different server names. I only have an Xbox, so I don't know.

Adding the repository and installing right now.
I'll need to fiddle with it more I guess.

I followed this guide to get fuppes working with my ps3, never even checked to see if it worked with the 360 as well.
